I've always liked this two-tone style of lace up Oxford shoes. It's nice to find a pair with a moderately built up sole and heel, and a lot of room in the toe box. My everyday shoes are athletic shoes in a size 9.5, with a heavy sock for cushioning, and a supportive insole. I ordered these in a size 9 knowing I wouldn't be wearing as much sock, but not wanting to size down too far. These are roomy, but I don't think I could have gone with an 8.5. They fit comfortably and do not press on my toes anywhere. The heel cup is good, it comes up high enough and is structured. It has some padding for comfort shaping. I have narrow heels and these fit unexpectedly well in the heel. Not perfect but better than I thought they would or could. There is some cushioning, and the sole material itself is resilient. They should be very comfortable standing and walking at an event. The heel is substantial, it's higher than I'm used to but because the sole is thick as well, the heel drop is very moderate. They do not give you any feeling of wearing high heels. My intended purpose for these shoes is to make them the foundation of an outfit to wear to the horse races. I used to love getting dressed up for the racetrack, and haven't had the opportunity for a while. I look forward to the next time, and to building a little spectator wardrobe around these shoes. The only drawback to these shoes is the synthetic material of the upper. My feet sweat, and I haven't ever worn synthetic shoes much at all, because they don't breathe. If I wear these all day I might carry a couple of pairs of low no-show socks with me and change into dry ones as the day goes on. That would be a good solution, these shoes are very sharp, just my taste for the racetrack spectator occasion, and worth finding a way to wear them comfortably. Read more
These are comfortable right out of the box. The size is true to size. The style is really cute and they were exactly as pictured. They are not leather, therefore not breathable. I don't think the value for the money is there because they are not leather. However they are a good quality. I will have to update my review if they fall apart quickly. If I could give these shoes 10 stars I would! For anyone dressing vintage and needing saddle shoes, "authentic reproductions" are insane expensive and like the original, have no soul. These are very cute shoes. I usually can wear a 6.5 with pantyhose or very thin socks, a size 7 if I plan on wearing regular socks, which was what I was thinking, so I got the size 7. They barely fit on my bare foot. If you're ordering these, order a 1/2 size up at least. I think I can get away with wearing them with thin socks though. Also the toe part is much wider than the product photos they show here. They're not as even as they appear in the photos, they widen up a bit just at the toe part, but they're still cute, and comfortable. Non-slip as far as I can see. These are a very super cute and great pair of Oxford shoes. They are a tad tight when first wearing but after wearing and breaking them in they are more comfortable to wear for long periods of time. They are very solid and durable so you can wear these for long periods. These are a great pair for price and the style is unmatched. The arch support could be tad better but like I said after wearing a few times they feel better. I still love these shoes and the style. Read more
