The Velcro and type of angled closure on these sneakers are fabulous if you have feet or even one foot that swells a lot! My left foot swells a lot after multiple times breaking my leg and ankle; it makes it necessary for me to literally buy a size larger shoe for this foot meaning I had to buy two pairs of ever shoes if I wanted to be able to comfortably wear them. Truth is, in most shoes I couldn’t even get the left foot into it at its least swollen so I had one shoe size 8 and another one size 7.5 , with these new Velcro wide opening top I can easily adjust the looseness or tightness of the closure to where just one sized shoe that feels comfortable on both feet ; and it can be adjusted at a moments notice anytime I need to if one of my feet become swollen to a different degree it takes a single second to just adjust the Velcro to as low a much looser or tighter closure! My mom is 93 years old this year and finding shoes which are comfortable for her is difficult. She has wide feet and is rather sensitive when the inside of the shoe is touching her toe(s). I bought the wide size for her and she says it's very comfortable. The adjustable strap makes it very easy to put on and take off her shoes. We also bought a pair of Brooks shoes, and she likes these better than the Brooks. If there's one negative I don't like about the shoes... The strap as shown in the picture has nothing on it, but that's not the case. It says "Ortho Shoes". It's not easy to see, but still, it's better not to advertise that these shoes are orthopedic shoes. That might be reason for me to look for other shoes for my mom. Read more

If you have very wide feet or suffer from edema and feet are swollen these shoes are for you. Had foot surgery 3 years ago and couldn’t fit in my shoes . Bought these shoes and they fit well. Have adjustable Velcro so easy to put on . This year I had trouble with my feet swelling so bought my second pair. They come with different inserts as well. Also stylish. Read more

This was actually the third pair of these shoes that I've ordered. My 90 year old mother has severe edema. Her feet are always swollen, and her shoe size varies from day to day, and most days, one foot is even bigger than the other. She says these shoes are comfortable, and they even have some support. The only negative thing I could say is that the top velcro straps don't lie completely flat. This makes the shoes look kind of flimsy, like they were not made right. But, this could be because of the foot issues we are dealing with. What's important is that they work for my mother, who has very hard to fit feet. Read more

I like the way they open up for my foot to fit into and I like how easily they are to adjust according to how my feet are feeling. But they do run wide especially in the toe box, causing a wrinkle. I'm hoping my feet will get used to the new arch support and won't have trouble with it rubbing on the top of my feet. Read more
