This smart aquarium did not work at all. I would change half the water out weekly just to keep the tank clean. I like the idea of it but this tank didn’t do what I expected. I did like the automatic feeder ( but it was inconsistent). The light schedule was also nice for them to turn on and off. The Customer service was great and had the tank picked up and returned. I got my refund no problem. Just wish the tank would have worked. Read more

Love the fish tank so far. Very easy to get started. Betta loves it! For those that have issues with connecting on the app, it has to be on a 2.4ghz. Will not work if your WiFi is set to 5.0ghz. You either have to change your current WiFi settings or create a secondary for a 2.4ghz. I did a secondary and it connected immediately. So far everything works on the app & tank. I like the fish tank- it’s easy to use and modern! Sadly my betta fish did not do well with adjusting to this tank, we had a vertical tank prior and it was just overall not as active once switching to this tank. It ended up dying about 2 months after switching, after we took a trip and utilized the auto feed feature. My best guess after playing with it is that it dumped too much food and 3 minutes was not enough time for the fish to realize it was being fed and the pump would turn back on and suck up all the food. Super bummed, but will try again with a different fish & update on how that goes. Read more

Edited to add: today I opened up the air stone that came with this tank. Let me tell you, that is the most noisy air pump I have ever had in all my years of fish keeping. It sounds like a jet engine. I've been an aquarist for many years. I typically steer clear of kits but this one actually is a nice kit. My only complaint is that it really does heat up the water because the lid is tight fitting (thus 4 stars). I propped up both corners to hopefully allow some of that heat to escape but it's still running at about 78 to 80°. I don't have a heater in the tank either. You can turn the intensity of the light down but in doing so, then the plants don't get the light they need. A bit of a conundrum. Overall, I do like the size and the features. This is a great starter aquarium for someone looking for a pretty roomy 5 gallon tank. Read more
