What a lovely piece. I purchased this as a gift for my daughter and I know she is going to love it. I have simmered potpourri on our stove for more than 30 years, especially when the weather starts to get chilly. The smell of cinnamon and cloves simmering on cold fall days is a lovely memory and this simmer pot will be perfect to carry on the tradition. The size is perfect, the design couldn’t be better, and the price is fair in comparison to others I’ve seen. I love the design and the fact that it’s cast iron. This will last forever if properly maintained. I would recommend not leaving water in it over night and wiping it dry after use to prevent rusting. Read more

I have this steamer pot sitting on top of my Supreme Novo 18 and it does great. I never see active steam coming out of the pot itself (this may vary from stove to stove) but I DO notice that the the water level drops considerably after a day of heating. The whole idea behind these are to add some humidity back into the air.. The hole in in the center of the lid is perfect for topping it back up with water without having to remove it. The pot itself looks very nice, it's heavy, and seems to be well made. The inside of the pot is super smooth, almost like porcelain or something. Overall it's very low maintenance, just keep water in it and maybe even add a few drops of your favorite essential oils for additional aroma! (I'm currently on my 2nd winter with this stove and steamer pot) Read more

Beautiful pot! Definitely a lot bigger than I thought. Had a nice constant simmer smell almost all day, along with the pot keeping the heat when adding more water. I also love the functionality of the hole in the top! Easily add water and stir. Definitely a huge value for my dollar! Read more

I bought this for the top of my wood-burning stove. I haven’t had a fire yet and my wood-burning stove, but the pot looks nice sitting on top of it. Read more

This is holding up nicely with no rust yet. I like that the center hole on the top is large enough that you don’t have to remove the top to refill the water. Read more

These are the best steamers we've ever owned. We have 2 wood stoves; one on each side of our house. We bought 2 of these to try them out on our largest wood stove and we are so impressed with these that we are going to buy two more for our other wood stove. Pros: These are heavy duty and have a large opening that you can fill with water without having to remove the top. The tops do not get so hot that you cannot lift the tops off with your bare hand without burning your fingers. Although these are not porcelain coated, if you season them properly as instructed, they are no stick. They are wide and cover more surface area of the wood stove than the oval ones we've owned in the past. They also hold nearly twice as much water as the oval steamers we've owned in the pat (half gallon each vs 1 quart for the oval steamers). Cons: The lattice spacing and large opening causes the water in these to evaporate a lot faster than other wood stove steamers we've owned in the past. However, the Pros far outweigh this one Con.
