Works as expected. Lightweight wood. Leave in 2-5 days for best results.
Got these to stretch out a couple pairs of Reeboks I bought (At the store with the red star) but didn't try on before the return window. So I bought this shoe stretcher for a few reasons. First, it's wood. Wood is always better than plastic. Plastic would have to be solid for it not to crack or splinter, and a solid plastic shoe stretcher is basically unheard of. Wood is denser even if it's lighter and even if it isn't cedar (they could be pine, which is a cedar) they will absorb some of the trapped heat inside the shoe, and kind of work with the leather or synthetic and not against it. Also, having shoe trees made of wood (not stretchers, rather bought and used to keep dress shoes from collapsing inwards with time and lack of use) I am partial to wood as a natural product. The price point was fair. The little divets it comes with are ok, and some don't quite fit the holes perfectly but one can make it work. I slipped them into the shoes and began tightening the rod. Immediately the shoes with the tight toes I momentarily considered donating or giving away, began to stretch out. I will leave these stretchers in for about 24 hours, then remove and place other drivers and go again. Hopefully, in about a week, they'll be good to go. ** The process is not a quick one, so having a pair of backup shoes is good especially if you want to get this done right. Also, afterwards you can use the same device inside the shoe as opposed to leaving it in the storage bag it comes with. I'm happy with the purchase, ease of use, amount of divets and little organizer bag it comes with. I feel this product will extend the life of my apparel (apparel being a euphemism for sneakers and such) and save me a foot ache for some time, since in my case it's neuropathy related and not anything else. Try it out. I'd recommend the product. Read more
