Woolrich Mens Langhorn Jacket

No, it's not made in America. It is still a great mid-weight down coat. Somewhat more rugged in appearance than the photos, not really "high fashion" or sleek looking but still very smart. The cuffs at the wrist are sewn in, seems like ribbed cotton/poly blend. I'm 6'2", 200lbs, wide shoulders, and the coat fits great. Sleeves not too short. I didn't want the puffy marshmallow man look and this coat, while well insulated, is relatively fitted to my frame. It goes below my butt, which will be great in the cold. Collar goes quite high, which will work well since there is no hood, will keep the neck warm. I can tuck my chin into the collar easily when it's fully zipped. Really warm and comfy winter jacket. The coat is longer and a little bit bulkier than it appears in the photo, but amazingly comfortable and warm. I've worn it in sub-freezing temperatures and been toasty. There's no hood, but the jacket has a cushy neck that goes up to about my nose when zipped all the way up. FIT: I'm 6', 170 lb, chest 39, and the medium fits really well. If you try to layer underneath it gets a little snug in the shoulders/armpits, but it's so warm that there's really no need. I have been looking for a warm and wind resistant jacket to wear while coaching soccer here in Wellington New Zealand. It looks like this will be ideal as it is tough and really well made as far as I can see, far better than the average lightweight down jackets that are avaliable here. It is summer here right now but I'm confident this is going to be fine down to 0 degress C [ freezing temp] and strong winds. I'm six foot two and around 180 pounds Large fits nicely with a tee shirt and light fleece on under it however it is a little tight around the shoulders [ No problem for my intended use but would be a nusance if I wanted to wear it to work or to ski in. I just received the jacket here in Russia and as I got stuck in a blizzard the jacket is simply fantastic: The fit is perfect and true to sizing information extremely warm when it's heavily snowing + it has adjustable HEM cord WHICH STOPS THE WIND . UNFORTUNATELY AND IT'S THE BIGgest DEFECT of all the woolrich winter models created for low tempratures , is that 90% of them don't have a HEM CORD and all the talks about the winter insulation of woolrich models without the HEM CORD is just a BLA BLA BLA a huge desinformation written by people who saw the snow storm only on TV Read more

So I ordered an XL even though I normally wear a Large. It arrived today and I tried it on. It was perfect for me. This tells me the jacket runs a little small or is intended to be a snug fit. Personally I don't like snug fit jackets. I prefer them to be loose on me so that I can wear other layers underneath. If you are the same way then order one size large than you would normally use. In terms of construction quality the jacket is really good. I have no complaints there. This particular vendor did a good job packaging the coat and they were especially considerate enough to place a layer of cardboard underneath the seam of the packaging box so that in case you were foolish enough to run a knife through it to cut the tape it would protect the jacket inside. Those little details matter and even though I was being very careful when I opened the box and avoid using a sharp edge I am grateful the vendor took the time to do something like that. When i first received the coat, I had some doubt as to how warm it would keep me. Well, i must say it is a very warm coat, as i have worn it in tempertures that were in the teens and i cant say i ever got cold. It's a bit bigger then it looks in the picture, but not one of those real bulking coats that you can move in. I have another coat that my fiance purchased for me that is as warm as this, but that cost about 300 more, so this is a really good deal. Read more
