Great little grinder
I am very please this this attachment. I was using the small 1/2" belt that came with the MK.2 to grind an initial edge on knife blanks using extra course and course. I would finish the edge using Arkansas stones. The MK.2 works nice but I didn't care for the guide as it does not support the tip and you have to free-hand it, holding the knife edge down and tilted back at the cutting angle. Not to easy to do when you have a curved tip and also required you to rock the knife upward. Just not intuitive or natural. This attachment has a wider belt and it's all free-hand, but it is quite intuitive. Holding the knife at 90' to the grinding surface comes natural. It give a nice even edge along the whole length of the blade. After grinding several knife blanks I decided to try the finer grits and see just how sharp it would get the blades. I did a few utility knives that get heavy use with a medium grit to clean up the cutting angle and then moved to the finer grit. It put a very nice sharp edge on them that rivaled my Arkansas stones. I am duly impressed. If you using the Ken Onion MK.2 I highly recommend this attachment. Worth every penny. Read more
