Bought these for a new DELL T440 Server where I didn't want to spend for the overpriced DELL drives. This part is difficult or impossible to get from DELL, but these look exactly like the ones that come with the server - all the lights are functional and the correct color and the fit into the chassis is spot on. Got these for my Dell PowerEdge R730 3.5" 8-Bay server. These caddies are well constructed, close to the Dell OEMs. They are well-marked and the provided instructions make it an ease for disk installation. I would have given these a 5-star rating, however 2 of the caddies had faulty LED indicators. Read more
When purchasing a Poweredge server from Dell, additional drives were much more expensive than purchasing these trays along with some Samsung Pro SSD drives I found at https://amzn.to/2unhxvp These trays worked just as well as the OEM trays in my Dell Poweredge Server. Pairing these trays up with some aftermarket SSD's saved me a fortune. These trays include a bracket for 2.5" drives, which you will need if you plan on using SSD drives. Also, these trays included stickers for the front of the tray to ID drives & included all the screws needed to install a drive of either 3.5" or 2.5" into the tray. The caddy's works perfectly for the Dell PowerEdge T440 servers. It was cheaper to import than to try source locally, so very happy about that too. Would advise you to try these if they suit your device. Read more
Even without the adapters or drives in them they are way too tight. The last inch or so would not go in and they were very tough to pull out. I do not believe there has been a change in the size of they bays on the 15th Gen Power Edge so maybe just a defective batch. I ordered a 3 - pack and tried two of them in different bays, same result with both so they were returned. Read more
