Works well — a little too well, actually. I will advise anyone to be extra-careful when attempting to cut through a box sealed with strapping tape. The blade may cut you when it hits the threads. Just like any other cutting tool, the blade can jump if it is hindered in any way during the cutting process. I cut my index finger with the box cutter as I was holding the box down with my left hand while using the box cutter with my right. The blade got caught on the tape threads and instead of cutting straight through the threads, it jumped and caught my index finger. It only took a second but my finger was sliced fairly deep. Luckily, the cut didn’t require stitches, which was good because it happened right around the Christmas holiday, but I’ve been hesitant about using this tool ever since. I only use it now if it is absolutely necessary to get boxes and other containers open. Be safe. Read more
