I wanted a non-slip and safe mat for my bathtub, especially for my kids. so, The first thing I liked the material is soft to the touch, not rough like some plastic mats, and it feels comfortable underfoot. The suction cups on the bottom do a great job of keeping the mat in place. Once pressed down properly, it doesn’t move around, even with water running over it. The textured surface also adds extra grip, making it safer for both adults & kids. One thing I wasn’t happy with is the size. I got the 16 x 28 inches, and it feels too small for my bathtub. It covers only a portion of the tub, so I’ll need to exchange it for a bigger size. If you have a standard or larger tub, I’d recommend going for a bigger mat. Another good thing is that it says machine washable, not tried yet. Overall, I really like this mat for its safety, comfort, and quality, but if you need more coverage, go for a larger size. This is a very nice mat for a tub or shower. It’s comfortable to stand on and even though I don’t know how many suction cups are actually sticking to the tub the bottom line is the mat is not moving when I step in it and move around. Which Is the whole purpose. The reason I only gave 4 stars is this. When I ordered it I thought I was getting the larger sized one. Yes there are two sizes! It’s my fault for sure for not being extra careful but still it is something you need to be careful about. Before you order be sure of the size you’re ordering. I was looking at the larger one initially and somehow it switched to the smaller one. Fortunately the smaller worked out ok but would have preferred the larger. I ordered this to replace one that was sliding around in the bathtub. My husband has neuropathy in his feet and has difficulty standing in a bathtub. He ended up falling when standing on the one that this replaced, because it slid out from under him. This one sticks down and stays! My husband has been able to shower safely since I installed this mat with no falls in the week that we have been using this. I'm so grateful that this has allowed my husband to be safe in the tub and shower. It looks fine in the tub and coordinates well with the tub color, so it's not obtrusive. It doesn't look out of place. I did not notice any odor when I opened the mat. It is shorter than the length of the tub, but that doesn't really matter as it covers enough area for a person to stand to shower. There really isn't a need to have it cover the entire length of the tub. The mat drains well and does not hold onto water. If you are concerned about drainage, it's easy to pick the mat up and either drape it over the edge of the tub or stick it to the wall and allow it to dry between uses. I highly recommend this mat to provide a safe showering experience if you're concerned about falls. Read more
