I am giving this a four not a five ONLY because the photos in the description were deceptive. The photos of the white shorts show a solid white fabric. That is not the case as you can see in my photo where the outline of the pocket is clear. This doesn’t bother me, but it may be a problem for other buyers, especially regarding panties. Maybe I am cynical, but I wonder if the descriptions or photos are adjusted just for the sale. I am sure other buyers are hesitant to return items unless there is a real discrepancy. For me, this is a minor discrepancy but it depends on the person. The pockets are very deep. And the size chart is accurate. I have 48 inch hips and the extra large was roomy. Also note that the pleat in the fabric, combined with the banding at the edge, means that the shorts will have a slight balloon. For me, I like that detail, and certainly I like the buttons down the side. 100% cotton and I don’t like to iron— I remove it from the washer and smooth it down with my hands, letting it air dry flat. I’m a solid size 16 and had surgery so needed elastic waisted shorts. These are made of theoretical cotton sheeting, are fairly light weight, and wrinkle terribly. The cut is what the Japanese call pumpkin pants, like a truncated parachute pant so billowing in size and are not flattering on the larger person.
