Customers say
Customers have mixed opinions about the shoes' fit, with some finding them great while others report the toe box being too narrow. Comfort is also mixed, with several customers finding them comfortable, though one customer mentions pain in their pinky toes.

So far..so good! Havent worn long enough..but fit is great!!! Comfortable! Secure but also nice toe room! I usually need to Put a liner (I use alpaca liners)…helps absorb moisture from feet sweat with waterproof shoes/boots for me. Read more
I hike in regular Scrambler Mid boots all the time and love them but needed these waterproof ones because my hiking vacation was going to be a rainy one. I wore these on a hilly, rocky and a wet 3 mile trail. I wore them when grabbing stones out of Lake Superior and also around our campsite. They are waterproof, I had no water inside when the waves came around my boots, only wish these boots were a little taller up my leg. They are stiff, stiffer than my regular Scramblers but that was fine. If you have extra wide feet they may not be for you. They felt narrow, my toes didn’t feel so free and I only am just barely a wide. I had to loosen the laces on the boots to give extra room which made the 60” laces too short and hard to tie. I will have to put in new 72” laces. They were true to size. The lace hook backs inside at the top of the boot seem to be in a weird spot and rub on my ankle bone. I will have to sew and place in some extra padding or something to go between the lace hook backs and my ankle bone. All in all, they are okay and worked for what I needed them for. I don’t think I would like hiking in them all day as my toes aren’t so free in them. When I make the adjustments-new laces and extra padding for my ankle bone, they will be sufficient for my needs. 3 stars for me having to do alterations on them especially when they are so expensive. Was looking for a hiking boot with zero drop, tested it out on a hike and my lower back pain and knee pain reduced by like 90%. The fit feels nice and quite snug and super light weight almost like a normal shoe, not bulky like average boots like my last Merrell which I love. Read more
Like other reviews said, the toe box is too small. I should have listened. I wore them all day at universal and my pinky toes hurt so bad. I tried to stretch them out with no luck I have to return them. They would be comfy otherwise. Read more
Feel good. The hooks have caught the shoes laces and back loop when I cross my ankles when seated, almost a tripping hazard. I'm considering cutting the lace hooks off if my laces and back loops chronicly get caught in them. Read more
🚫 Warning: Painful Design Flaw Ruins Vacation (Scrambler Mid WP) I am a loyal Xero customer and own six pairs that I love, but my experience with the Women's Scrambler Mid Waterproof has ended my relationship with the brand. The well-known design flaw—where the stiff, mid-cut waterproof upper creates a painful crease that pinches the foot near the ankle bend—resulted in a serious injury. After only 7 days of hiking, my right foot was severely swollen and painful, requiring four weeks of recovery with ice, anti-inflammatory creams, and compression bandaging. This injury completely ruined my long-anticipated vacation. What makes this experience worse is Xero's customer service response. They offered a generic, unempathetic referral back to Amazon, showing a complete disregard for a loyal customer and the severity of the injury caused by their product. Thankfully, Amazon stepped up and issued a refund as a one-time courtesy. I will not purchase Xero shoes again. I recommend that other loyal customers look to alternative minimalist brands that prioritize product safety and stand by their customers. Read more
Very uncomfortable and not true to size. Had to return them. Read more
