This Xiaomi Mini has easily the best sound of any compact Bluetooth speaker I've used. Sound is clear and balanced, and also surprisingly full for a speaker this size. My tastes run towards new wave and power pop, and this speaker does a nice job with delicate acoustic guitar, plucked strings, and percussive synth notes, preserving the character of the music without allowing the individual instruments to blend into mush, which is what usually happens with speakers this small. Some people may not be satisfied with the level of bass--but the only way to deliver thumping bass without making the overall sound muddy is to have a woofer or sub-woofer separate from the main speaker reproducing the bulk of the instruments. A speaker this size can deliver heavy bass or it can deliver a balanced sound, but it can't do both--for most music, balanced sound is far preferable. You can also answer phone calls with this speaker, but that's not something that I tested or have any interest in. With an IP 67 rating, this speaker can get wet without being damaged (which is why the product image shows splashing water surrounding the speaker). The rating means the speaker can be submerged in water for 30 minutes, which is something else that I didn't personally test and really wouldn't recommend. I just got it and surprised me positively, the sound quality is great, specially considering the size of it. Super easy to pair, and just minutes after testing music I got a call and again very good quality.usi g it as an speaker for phone calls. The media could not be loaded. I have a ton of portable Bluetooth speakers but this is just another lever of portability and performance. This baby is a size of a pack of cigs and is loud as hell, though no distortion at all. It will fit your jacket pocket instantly and if you play music from there it will still be very loud (and its vibration will shake you). The sound is loud, clear, the trembles are very crisp, the bass is quite perceptible, though not extraordinary. When played the speaker will "walk" on your countertop or desk, so make sure it doesn't fall down from it. And all this for less than $30! If it was manufactured by a major brand (Sony, Bose, Marshall) it would cost at least 100-150 bucks. All in all, a remarkable purchase. As other reviews noted, I'm impressed with the quality including base for such a tiny speaker. Setup is self-explanatory, great minimalist while still intuitive design, including a subwoofer on one side. Got it so we can play oldies while trying out new BBQ for Father's Day. So bonus it's waterproof and ok for outdoor elements. Read more
