These lighters are solid, sturdy, and classy! If you want a adjustable lighter that's easy on your cigar this is it. The triple soft flame gently ignites the foot of your cigar without burning up the wrapper. The soft flames envelop the foot gently toasting it to perfection. Ignition is accomplished by pushing the rotating cylinder up and to the left. Mine had a malfunction where the ignition cylinder failed to catch the Flint. So xikar has me send it if to them for repair no questions asked. Repair was complete in about three weeks. Only thing I had to pay for was shipping to their facility. The lifetime warranty is a real benefit. Now these are not good in the wind. You'll want a jet lighter for that. I have been using this lighter once a day for about a month now. I really like it. It lights every time. It holds quite a bit of fuel. One thing I don't like is that when the fuel is filled up, it only shows it filled to about 1/5 of the entire viewing window in the back, which makes it looks like it's not full... kind of weird. The adjustment knob on the bottom is really nice and smooth. In very light breeze it's usable, but anything over that the flame will go out. We will see how it holds up over time. Read more
Received the Meridian today. Solidly built and comfortable to hold. Construction is weighty but not so much that you couldn’t travel with it. However, it is bulky and most likely would get scratched up while in your pocket with keys or other metal objects. This produces a huge flame when set on highest position. Flame is also very easy to be blown out so if you’re looking for wind resistance, you may want a jet lighter instead. That said, the metal wheel flame adjust & flint compartment make this worth owning. Fuel window is very convenient to read but must be read with lighter upside down. I own a Xikar Mag first gen. Eventually had problems with it after 2 years so I bought this. The Meridian will be my go-to now. So 5/5: for its ease, build, comfort, style and flame overall. Seems to be well built. Reliable triple flame. Excellent at lighting cigars. Definitely made for indoor lighting as this is a soft flame and will be blown out with any kind of windy conditions. A little more on the expensive side and there are definitely better lighters out there for less money but It is a unique design and a conversation piece. The lighter works as promised. I love the adjustable soft flame. The size is in-between. Too big/thick to carry in a pocket or a 3 cigar case. And a bit small for a desktop. Also I can’t see though the filler window so that’s no help. I’m glad that I bought the lighter and enjoy using it. But there are design flaws. Read more
