Why did you pick this product vs others?: I bought these lights because I've had other brands in the past that didn't last long and these looked more premium than the others. I could tell from when I first put them together that they were good quality and would last a very long time. The spike is sturdy and has an second point which keeps them from falling over. They have a pleasant, buttery tone to the light and are just the right brightness to light up a path or driveway without being overpowering. These are fantastic - all of the parts that are advertised as metal and glass absolutely are, so they’ll definitely last, making them worth the additional cost. They were also easy to hammer into place. And despite their stylish, compact size, they do a great job lighting our stepped path - we only need one side to be lit. Very pleased. Read more

UPDATED REVIEW: Regretfully I must change my review from 4 stars to 3 stars. As mentioned in my below original review, the most important feature for me is whether these new solar lights (model HW-6166B) stay lit all night long after a full day of mostly sunny skies. After having them several days, I can tell you they do not. That's the reason for dropping down from 4 stars to 3. Over the past several years I have made multiple purchases of XMCOSY's model SL-1802-00. I love them because they do stay lit from dusk to dawn. And to ensure my evaluation of the two models is fair, I recently placed the new HW-6166B lights alongside of my older SL-1802-00 lights. They received the same amount of sunshine. And the older SL-1802-00 solar lights stayed lit throughout the night whereas the HW-6166B solar lights did not. I did a little investigation and discovered the batteries in the older SL-1802-00 lights is 3.2v and 600mah. But the batteries in the new HW-6166B lights is different: 3.2v and 500mah. The lower mah (500) means those batteries have less capacity than the 600mah batteries. Perhaps that's the reason the lights don't stay lit all night long. If so, then my suggestion is that XMCOSY consider upgrading the batteries they are putting in their HS-6166B solar lights. I guess if the buyer doesn't care how long the lights stay lit throughout the night, then this review may seem picky. But for those of us who want their solar lights to remain lit from dusk to dawn, then I hope this review is helpful. Consider XMCOSY's SL-1802-00 solar lights instead. They are still available here on Amazon and you won't be disappointed. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Back in the summer of 2021 I purchased the XMCOSY+ solar lights model #SL-1802-00 and found them to be the best solar lights I ever bought. Here we are 4 years later and they continue to function well outdoors in the harsh summers and winters of the midwest USA. But, overtime, their bronze finish has begun fading and I thought it time to replace them. So I recently purchased these new XMCOSY+ solar lights model #HW-6166B and have attached a picture. Here are my initial thoughts of what I like and what I'm still uncertain about. LIKES: > The bronze and wood finish is attractive. > It's real glass encasing the LED, not cheap, transparent plastic that fades. > The appear to be well-constructed, although the stake and the cage housing the light are made of plastic. I have more comments about this in the UNCERTAIN section below. > The Edison style LED filament looks fashionable and should give off a good amount of brightness for a solar light. > The lights and posts and stakes came very well-packaged and undamaged with lots of styrofoam as protection. > Assembly is simple. > I like that each stake consists of the main stake and also a smaller right-angled sister stake that helps stabilize the light. But do use a rubber mallet to hammer the stake into the ground to keep it from breaking or chipping. UNCERTAIN: > The most important thing to me is how long the lights stay lit throughout the night. I love the SL-1802-00 solar lights that I bought 4 years ago because they stay lit throughout the night, even if they get only partial sunshine during the day. Will these new HW-6166B solar lights do likewise? I haven't had them long enough to determine that. But if they do stay lit throughout the night, then I'll likely change this review from 4 stars to 5 stars. >The SL-1802-00 lights that I bought 4 years ago are completely made of metal. But as mentioned above, some parts of these new HW-6166B solar lights are plastic. Absolutely love this company and their quality lights! I have purchased several sets of lights from this company and all are high quality, long lasting products. I love this set 😍 They are built well, very sturdy and remain standing when an 80 lb dog is running full speed through the flower beds. The lights come on at sunset and are still on when I wake up at 5am. They are absolutely gorgeous, I've gotten compliments on them from everyone that has seen them. The media could not be loaded. The build quality is amazing, heavy / premium feel to these lights. These lights light up a good sized area, and they shine all night long. They are always still on when I leave for work in the morning. If you are shopping around for lights I recommend buying these or checking out this company’s store page. I have bought multiple sets of lights from them and they are all still working (and looking) like new from years ago. I’ll give an update in a year to see how well the hold up.
