I've been super impressed with XMCosy so far! These lights are no exception. A little background: I was hesitant when I first found CMCosy. I was thinking it was one of those numerous knockoffs you see these days, but I gave it a shot. I first started with the wired pathlights, because I previously had a dozen Ring pathlights — both solar and battery powered. The battery powered ones OBLITERATED batteries. I'd be changing them every month or two. Four D batteries per a light quickly started to exceed the cost of the light. Due to overhead shade from trees, I couldn't use solar lights everywhere, so I began swapping them out with wired XMCosy lights. I've had almost twelve of those (three sets) for a couple of years, and I've only run into to two minor issues. XMCosy was easy to work with and stood behind the product. Now that I'm addicted to having full color spectrum for my lights and having better integration with Home Assistant, enter the XMCosy solar path lights! =) I got these based on a trial offer from the company, so that needs to be noted, but it's not why I'm giving it a five-star review. As the other reviewer noted, these are high-quality build! And I can literally compare them side by side with the last of my Ring solar path lights that I'm replacing. They seem equally as bright, sturdier, and obviously have the advantage of color!! They're just as stylish and seem of equal if not better material finish. (I also prefer the slightly square shape, but that's subjective.) I'm no photo-physicist (if that's even what it's called), but the solar panels appear a tiny bit larger, so I'm hoping that will equate to a bit more charging "oomf!" My previous lights had integrated Wifi "hubs," so the hub with with one was a new thing for the XMCosy ecosystem. That said, I was super impressed by their hub. (Being a smart home geek, I easily have 10+ hubs. I hate hubs!) It has an integrated cord manager and allows the cord to be pretty long, if needed. It should also be noted that this hub does NOT need to be plugged into an ethernet connection, so it can be placed anywhere there's power. I was blown away by how quickly the app detected each light. Like—BLOWN AWAY! I would press the power button and it was instantly appear. They seem snappy and responsive, and I'm slowly getting everything set up with Alexa and Home Assistant, so I'll report back if I have any issues. Overall, I'm super happy so far and have no reason not to recommend these!! Read more
Update 10/21/25: Customer service has been awesome in trying to resolve my issues. They ultimately sent me an additional 4 new path lights as well as some troubleshooting help and everything appears to be working well for now. Good potential, but some major flaws. First the good: - Setup was super easy. Basically just download the app, push the pairing button on all of the lights, and they will all be added concurrently. Once added to the app you then need to add them to the wi-fi bridge, so that is a separate step. - The motion sensor function is great and is what I have primarily been using. When one light's sensor detects motion they all turn on (the lights have to be made into a group to do this, otherwise only that light will turn on). - The colors are a nice feature for holidays etc. Now the bad: - The app is not well built and not very user friendly. If you are on the motion sensor mode and then switch over to manual mode (separate tab), the app will often just randomly switch the screen back to motion sensor screen. - Schedules don't seem to work as they should. I tried to set up a schedule to have the lights on from 7pm to 10pm, then switch to sensor mode so that they aren't on all night. To do this you need to have an "on" schedule, an "off" schedule, and a "sensor" schedule (per customer support). When I added the off schedule the lights just stayed off altogether and never entered sensor mode at all either. So essentially the lights never worked with a schedule unless I just made a schedule to turn them on, and then they stayed on indefinitely. - Charging issues. I have had 3 lights now that don't seem to charge. There is the solar charging option, or you can remove the top of the light and plug it into a USB-C charger. At first I was having this issue with 2 lights, which XMCOSY replaced, now I am having the same issue with a third light. When I plug in to charge the charge status immediately turns green (indicating fully charged) despite the battery status on the app showing red and the light not turning on.. Not sure if this is an issue with the batteries they use or the lights themselves, but it has been very frustrating and has made me re-think my purchase. I will say customer support has been very responsive and helpful so that is a plus. Read more
I've owned several XMCOSY+ products in the past. I really enjoy the smart features and the compatibility with Alexa, but the need to run wires was always a bit of a pain. These lights are amazing. I've used solar lights before, but they are never smart lights, never color, and they also never seem to hold a charge. I've been running these for awhile now and even with limited sunlight in Seattle, they seem to keep holding a charge. The build quality is great, and the responsiveness with Alexa is also solid. I give these a solid 5 stars and plan to buy a much bigger set of these in the future. Read more
I couldn’t be happier with the XMCOSY Smart Solar Lights! These lights completely transformed my backyard—stylish, functional, and incredibly easy to use. Setup was a breeze, and I was impressed with how solid and well-built they felt right out of the box. What really sets them apart is the smart app control. Being able to adjust brightness and color temperature from my phone is a huge plus, especially when entertaining guests or just relaxing on the patio. They charge efficiently even on overcast days and stay bright well into the night. Plus, the automatic on/off feature works flawlessly. I’ve received so many compliments on how great they look, and I love that they’re solar-powered—eco-friendly and no wires to fuss with. If you're looking to upgrade your outdoor lighting, do yourself a favor and get these. Highly recommend! Read more
