I love these hats without a bill. Reminds me of Alfalfa and the gang. Overall I really like this hat! But the clip is cheap. I've been noticing this a lot with hats lately, especially those made overseas. They come with a metal clasp. The clasp is cumbersome to adjust. It's metal, so it presses into the scalp and can be uncomfortable. I much prefer the plastic ones with the little nubs that click into the holes. I'll be removing the clasp and sewing it to my size so I don't have to deal with the cheap clasp irritating my scalp. Read more

This is fun and interesting modern take on the various types of brimless hats for skullcaps that are worn by many different peoples around the world. If this hat had a brim you would completely recognize the materials and the quality of the sewing. The hat is made of sewn panels with a button at the crown. Each panel has a small circular button ventilation hole that is actually punched through. The fabric is a cotton twill that is soft to the touch. The bottom has a thick sweat band that make for a rim that is folded and a bit uneven. This thick rim is perfect for inserting pins, studs for other decorations. Inside the hat, all seams that are in exposed areas are covered over with fabric strips. Similar to a baseball cap the circumference of the hat can be adjusted by pulling in or out the strap which is cinched in place with a familiar metal clasp. I like the look of brimless hats but do not want to wear one that is too closely associated with a particular country, tribe, or specific community. This hat, being sewn together like a baseball cap except minus a brim, makes this a modern version of a skullcap. I like it a lot! Read more

Very thin material. It seems to fit pretty well, and is adjustable for comfort. The quality is ok, but nothing really special. The color is slate grey and actually works for this style. Would I buy another one? Probably not, but it was unique enough to give it a try. Read more

I really did not see the point of skull caps when I first saw them. They just seemed to be low on functionality compared to my regular brimmed caps. But then I realized whenever I am out imaging with my cameras...I get some nice sun protection and most importantly, some deer fly protection. Once I settle into a place to do some wildlife photography, they always find me. My other caps do the same, BUT...this skull cap never gets in the way of my imaging. With my other caps...I have to quickly turn the cap around if something happens. I have a few others and this one is very nice. It has a softer cotton than my others, and seems to breathe a bit better. Nice old fashioned and capable cotton strap in the back with brass hardware. Looks great, feels great...I'm a convert now. This cap is easily adjustable, like a baseball hat. The rolled cuff all the way around is lightly cushioned, maintaining its form to look nice. The material doesn’t really have a thick denim or canvas feel, like you might think by it’s washed look. Instead it’s light and breathable. This hat didn’t overheat my head and the cushioned brim actually absorbed my sweat a little. Certainly, you shouldn’t expect it to act like a terrycloth headband, but it did offer SOME absorbency that a normal baseball hat wouldn’t. Overall, the hat is sized appropriately for an adult head, and by that, I mean that it won’t sit short above your ears like some baseball hats do. For $15, this is a nice hat. 100% cotton, breathable, fits right and holds its shape. Read more
