These knives are great quality and work perfectly for her to slice and prep food. They feel sturdy, sharp, and well balanced, and the handles are comfortable to hold. A really nice set for everyday use. Easy to use and the cost is low for such high quality rust resistant knives. Read more
These are really sharp knives! They look like they’re well made and the handle feels good in your hand. They’re well balanced too. Although the name is Japanese there is no mention anywhere that they’re actually made there, or anywhere, which feels a bit suspicious. Since I just got them I can’t vouch for their durability but so far so good, they’re doing the job. I may now have to get special cutting gloves to protect my fingers. Read more
This is a review for Yatoshi Knives With High Carbon Steel Blade Review Submitted April 2025 Some preliminary details. Color: Black Set Includes: 1x 8" Chef knife, 1x 8" Bread knife, 1x 3.5" Paring knife WOW!!! These appear to be High Carbon Blades. The manufacturer states they are "Made with premium 7Cr17 High Carbon Steel that provides a razor-sharp professional quality blade. The steel contains 0.6-0.75 carbon, making it two times tougher than other knives in its class with a Rockwell Hardness of 57-58." I think this is quite right and a helpful set of facts when it comes to selecting quality cutlery. These knives are razor sharp, and high-performing tools that only an expert should weild. If any mistakes are made the result could be an unfortunate trip to the hospital. These babies offer superior comfort and control. I agree that they are ergonomically designed offering the ideal balance between the handle and the thin blade. Indeed in my initial tests I find these ensure effortless movement when slicing, dicing, carving, and trimming. These beauties really are quite a dream come true when weilded in expert hands. I find so far that the manufacturers claims about these cutting instruments are all true and without exaggeration. I'll use these dynamos a bit more and provide more detailed comments, and my impressions. So at this point— 🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪 Five Super Sharp Carbon Steel Honed Stars. 🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪 Read more

This is a really well-made knife set. I love the fact that the metal is a solid piece from the blade all the way through to the handle. This gives you a better sense of stability and you don't feel that blade may break over time around the neck area of the blade where it attaches to the handle. The blades out of the box are extremely sharp so be careful while using and washing them. I've accidently cut into the sponge while cleaning the Chef's and Paring knives. At first, I thought the thickness of the bread knife was a bit overkill, but after using it to cut into sour dough bread we get from our local bakery, I don't think that anymore. If you're looking for a quality set of cutlery to add to your existing set or to give a gift, I highly recommend this set. Read more

I was excited to try these until I opened the box. The chefs knife came out bent. There was no damage to packaging so this was boxed up like this. If these were hand made more care would have gone into packaging them and noticing the knife was bent. I included pics of it. The other 2 knives were fine. These knives are very sharp. They are also light which is ok but I do prefer weightier knives. The handles are done well, the handle meets with the metal collars pretty smoothly. Other than the issue with the chefs knife these are decent and yes I was able to bend that blade back into place. I just had to do it carefully. Read more

This is quite a super nice set of knives for the price. They're full tang for greater durabiity and mostly balanced. Without a doubt, they are VERY sharp; since they're advertised as high carbon, I expect they will hold their sharpness longer than normal stainless. The handles fit well in your hand and I particularly like the paring knife - it just has a good hold as you're peeling potatoes, cucumbers, etc. The chef's knife is also quite nice and handles well. The bread knife does seem to give fewer crumbs on cutting than normal bread knives, so that's also a plus - it's probably the sharpness of the blades. Read more
These knives are pretty darn good and very sharp! They are full tang, balanced, agronomic and look amazing! I used the bread knife yesterday and it sliced through my bread like butter…no problem at all, no ripping, shredding or squishing. This is a set you would definitely be proud to give as a gift because of the quality and good looks of the set. The box the knives come in is very elegant with a flap opening that is magnetic. Each knife sits encased in a well of it’s own to showcase the knife. I don’t think you can go wrong with a set of knives of this quality for the money. These are not cheap, plastic knives. These are the kind you buy and use for many, many years. Read more
