Very functional and stronger than other options.
This has one of the highest weight ratings that I could fine and I've set it up in our home gym. My only negative is I'd like a little more lateral stability just because. I intend to look into what's available in the plumbing section at the hardware store. A couple of diagonal braces at the bottom rear would be preferable and I don't have a welder. That said, I haven't measured the diameter of the poles to know whether something off the sheld would work. I recommend assembling the telescoping legs 1st then connecting the horizontal Pieces. Leave 5 or 6 holes above the larger (ie outer) part of the leg if you're 6' and want a full hang without touching the ground. Make sure the telescoping adjustment moves freely and insert the removable pins. It will help to have a socket set and not use the barely useful wrenches included with the set. I'll have to drill the holes to get the height adjustment pins inserted correctly. Perhaps I should have rotated the inner leg 180* but I don't know that it will work and will drill it instead of starting over. Anchor at least one bottom cross tube to the floor if you want to do inclined rows from a set of rings or it will tip over. The end result will be very functional as is as long as you keep all of the load vertical as designed. Read more
This is heavy duty
The pull up bar is used for my aerial silk yoga. It's definitely not a light weight system. This thing is heavy but that is a good thing considering I do flips and depend on this to hold my body weight and the weight of the equipment. I also sleep in the silk hammock from time to time and it does not tip when rocking gently in it. I did have missed moving it around at first, but as it is a pull up bar, I have been using the grips on the bar to do some pull ups chin up and one handed pull up as well. I'm feeling the difference already. Great equipment for the price. I don't think I'll need to buy anything else for my silks. I can pack this awkwardly in my Honda crv and I can put it together. It's easy, just heavy. Folding it and putting it away is a little time consuming, I have carpet and the grips need to be placed on some good furniture sliders so I can put it around my house. Always removing the sliders before putting away and using. Read more
