I ordered these yak cheese nugget refill pack for my small Shih Tzu mix who just loves yak cheese. I previously ordered the yak holder so when you microwave these to make a cheese puff inside the yak holder, it holds the nugget and extends the amount of time it takes for my dog to eat it, keeping her entertained for a long time sometimes at least a couple of days I love that these are a simple ingredient healthy treat for my dog. They are not the cheapest, but for an occasional snack when I need to keep her occupied while on a zoom call for example these are a great option. Just make sure you’re not giving your dog the nuggets without a holder so they do not choke on them. My dog also enjoys, playing and chewing on the yak itself and so far has not damaged it I will continue to order these nuggets as I appreciate giving my dog high value treats and she absolutely goes crazy for them! My pug Guppy (2 years old) absolutely loves these Yak Chew Nuggets! When he smells then coming out of the microwave he truly goes wild. I ordered the yeti to put them in, but because they're on backorder Guppy has already gone through a whole bag of just the plain microwaved nuggets, and they entertain him all the same. In the past, Guppy has had full Yak Chew bones and I microwaved the ending bits, but they puffed inconsistently and burnt before they were fully puffed. These nuggets on the other hand inflate fully and quickly (only 1 minute in the nuker!!!) and are an all natural treat my pup LOVES. ONE WARNING: If you pup really takes their time with the chew - as it cools it will begin to make sharp snapping noises. Must be the stress snapping inside like glass or something?!? Guppy fell asleep next to an inflated nugget and I nearly went crazy trying to figure out why his breathing had hard random clicking/cracking sounds. I had no idea that they are actually bad to chew without puffing them up first (I guess especially for small dogs or puppies where their teeth may be more fragile). I did notice her teeth seemed to be a little worn looking for little teeth when chewing on the regular size chews. Anyway, queue these guys!! They are the perfect size for her, they are about 1" cube size and when you puff them up they puff up almost to the size of a tennis ball!!! (I soak for 5 minutes, dump the water out, and then microwave in 30 second increments until they don't puff up anymore). She is obsessed w/them, she'll run around the house hiding it over and over like a game (rubbing her nose around it like she's covering it in dirt) and then we find it and cheer and act celebratory, and then she hides it all over again lol When she finally does eat it, it does leave crumbles all around but they are easy to sweep up. I love the concept! Giving my dogs something to keep them busy for awhile and challenging them to get the treat, which they love! But waiting for them to cool off after microwaving them, and the mess when my dogs have to scrape the treat out of the warmer, is terrible. Recommend it as an outside treat. Read more

I gave 3 stars because my dogs love them. The problem is they are a high-priced treat which would be okay except that in each bag there are several pieces that don't puff up in the microwave. Directions say not to give to dogs without puffing first. Read more
