Works perfectly, never had a problem. It's easy to use and very quiet, just like a toroidal transformer. I'm specifically using this to power a Sony TC-K222ESJ cassette deck from Japan to have superior cassette recordings in my hifi setup here! Goes from 123 volts to a steady 100 volts. I needed to look for a step-down converter for my Technics tuner. It needs 100v. This one was the cheapest out there, and quite small, which works well for my application. It comes with 1 100V plug, and a 120V plug. It’s hefty, which I like. I made sure the input voltage was correct (on the back side), and plugged it in. I turned it on, and plugged in the tuner. Great step up/down transformer at high wattage support! I actually ordered it three times and finally it arrived the correct one I ordered. Previous two I got wrong spec and sent them back. I waited 10 more days to try it again and this 3rd time came the correct one. I used it for dual purpose: Japan 100V appliance, and isolation transformer for high end audio. The 3KW rated transformer is no joke. Huge! Heavy! My power amp runs full throttle at 4-500W max capped and you really need at least 3x more power transformer to get the optimal result. just got this today. Tested it with my voltmeter and it was at 102 volts. Which is amazing as our power here is 124, not 120V as it is supposed to be. So this unit seems to even have compensated some for that. Powers my Yamaha B-6 amplifier that is not meant for sale outside Japan. So this converter perfectly adjusts the voltage down to were I have zero worries about my newest amplifier. Very high quality! Read more

This item is defective, DO NOT BUY! I purchased this item to power a Japanese-purchased item (100V input required), but this Yinleader 500W Convertor damaged my unit. After plugging in the unit to this defective convertor, my Japanese-purchased unit worked briefly then started to work intermittently. After this issue arose, I tested the Yinleader 500W Convertor at the 100V outlet and found the output voltage to be 123.6V. I purchased a secondary, UMI 500W Convertor and found the output voltage of this unit to be 102V. However, now my Japanese-purchased unit will not function when plugged into the UMI convertor. STAY AWAY FROM PURCHASING THIS UNIT. I wouldn't trust any power convertors from Yinleader. I wrote to address this issue directly with the seller, but I did not receive any response. Read more
