I love boots and a punky look; so, these boots were right up my alley! They kind of remind me of an anime character. For the most part I love them, but after a long day of wearing them, there are a few downsides. Pros: 1. Soft material--clearly synthetic leather; not sure how durable it will be. But I managed to make it through the first day of wear unscathed. 2. Fit true to size--They did not run in my regular size, 6.5, but I ordered up to a 7, and they fit just right, maybe a little loose. 3. Unique style--I received several compliments 4. Functional zippers and strap Cons: 1. Not the comfiest. As a school librarian, I'm on my feet all day--going back and forth from teaching to shelving and all around campus. I often wear boots and heels, but usually my feet aren't sore by the end of the day. With these they were. Maybe it will improve as I break them in, but I'm not sure. The soles don't have a lot of give, and there isn't any arch support to speak of. 2. Limited options for pairing with pants. These go great with a denim skirt or skinny jeans, but unless you opt for a really wide leg, you can't wear these with most cuts of pants. They are pretty bulky at the bottom. 3. Stiff shoe--I thought I needed to unzip the side to get these boots on, but you don't have to. You can just slide your foot in. To account for this, the toe box and whole part of the shoe around your foot is *very* stiff. I think this contributed some to the sore feet! Additionally, these shoes are kind of clunky to walk around in. I feel like if I flex my foot more, it will slip out of the stiff section holding it in (if that makes sense).
