This is an amazing shaving cream to use. It is soft and it really minimizes razor burn. I won't say it eliminates it because razor burn is always a possibility, but it really helps keeps it down to a minimum. It has a pleasant scent, and I think this can last for a while because it seems to be really concentrated. For the price, you are getting a high quality product. The advert for Yon-ka Men's Barber Shave Cream asserts it is, "Razor Burn Free Shaving Cream with Citrus Oils, Patchouli & Peppermint, Soothes Sensitive Skin, Allantoin & Vitamin B5, for Thick Beards & Smooth Shaves". Given the history of shaving and the sheer quantity of shaving products, those are big shoes to fill. I used Yon-ka Men's Barber Shave Cream five times with different shaving methods to arrive at my conclusions. The good: 1) Nice fragrance that is not overpowering, cloying, or acrid as some creams can be. 2) Yon-ka Men's Barber Shave Cream does a nice job of moisturizing the beard and face for a decent shave, but with the caveats below. The caveats: 1) Like all creams I've used, Yon-ka Men's Barber Shave Cream lathers best with a brush in combination with a shaving mug/bowl. Using only the finger-tips provides a pathetic lather that doesn't work very well. 2) Like most creams I've used, Yon-ka Men's Barber Shave Cream works best with a pre-shave cream, or better, a pre-shave oil. Otherwise it's just a different smelling soapy cream for shaving. The not-so-good: 1) While all shaving products are comparatively expensive, the price - over $40 for a 3.4 ounce tube of Yon-ka Men's Barber Shave Cream - is silly. Sure, it might be chichi Parisian etc., but I have much less expensive shave creams in my arsenal that do just as well, or even better. Bottom line: Purchase this shave cream if you think the brand will win you points from someone you want to impress. But if you looking for a clean, smooth shave, there are less expensive and readily available alternatives that will get the grooming job done comfortably. Read more

This stuff is amazing. I've always dealt with sensitive skin that was irritated with shaving. This cream not only provides a nice rich lather, but smells great, and seems to be helping with breakouts after shaving. A little bit goes a long way with this and it is easy to lather up. Read more

I have not used anything but shave cream or gels until trying this. I wasn’t sure how much water to add and didn’t use enough the first time. You still need to make sure you create somewhat of a lather or it feels like a dry shave and is painful. I didn’t notice much of a difference using this versus my regular gel, but it works. I have to admit I was expecting this to be just an ok shaving cream and was surprised by the price. I tried almost every of the popular good brands in the shaving world. I am a shaveaholic, I have over 200 razors of all,sorts and mainly use DE razor. Here are my thoughts s 1. Yes its expensive but if you can afford it, buy it. 2. Lathers well and easy to get a good lather,even with hard water. 3. Excellent slickness and cushion. 4. Nice clean scent but not overpowering. 5. Rinses easily from razor. 6. Got the best shave I ever had. I used my usual routine, a vintage fat boy Gillette razor, dorco Prime blades and synthetic brush. I wish this was cheaper but truly is a great product. I recently tried Yon-ka Men's Barber Shave Cream, and I really like it. It's very gentle on my skin and gives a smooth shave. The cream lathers up nicely and has a pleasant scent that's not too strong. It rinses away easily, which is great. Afterwards I feel like my face is well moisturized and smooth, now I enjoy this but I am usually person that uses Barbasol and doesn't feel the same as this when finished shaving. Although it's a bit pricey, I think it's worth it for the quality and while it won't be my every day shave cream I will likely use this a couple times a week. Read more
