So, this isn’t your typical trash bin at all. It looks very much like a cute little wicker storage basket. And since the lid isn’t attached, it sort of functions more like a storage basket as well. However, if you’ve been searching everywhere for a trash can that looks nothing like a trash can but instead appears to be cure household decor, and you’re ok with the mild annoyance of having to completely remove the lid in order to throw away trash? Then this is exactly what you want. And you will love it. I would recommend it for places where you don’t need to use a trash can frequently AND that really need a hidden bin like this, as I think the small size plus lid having to be completely removed makes this much more logical for infrequently used areas. I’ve got mine set up right in the living room, somewhere I’d never normally place a trash can but it’s perfect for the odd scrap of paper that needs to be tossed away but isn’t really important enough to walk all the way over to the kitchen. And of course the lid makes this perfect for use around my 2 dogs. Since it can be lifted off it’s not 100% pet proof — if you have a dog that will knock over the whole trash can to find out what’s inside, they may well be able to get the lid to fall off when they knock the bin down. But my two pups will only bother a trash can if it’s open at the top so with this lid on it; they haven’t tried to get into it once. I would say it’s a very sturdy trash can and wouldn’t be easily knocked over, but I mean if it were to be pushed over then the lid may fall off since it’s not latched on. Overall I think this is perfect for when you need a small trash bin in an area where you’d never want to put a trash can out, as it indeed just looks like pretty wicker storage. I do love that it comes with the wicker bin, a separate wicker lid and a plastic trash can fit inside the bin as well. Overall it’s a great product for the specific purposes it was made for. This is the smoothest rattan/wicker product I've ever had. It feels quite nice and looks it as well. The size is ideal for our bedroom, and I'm glad it also looks nice there. Quality-wise, I think this will last a long time, which is particularly important given the expensive price tag. The only thing I struggle with is that the handles are on the lid rather than the trash can itself. When I go to pick up or move the trash can, I keep just taking the lid off instead. Read more
