I travel for work and currently am staying at a shared housing rental - sharing the bathroom with three other people (read: absolutely unhinged co-house share situation.) And the problematic bathroom layout could not be more curious: an overly large room with 4 sinks, one throne and a shower stall with no place to safely place your shower hygiene items. When I learned this property used to be the former county mental asylum for the criminally insane (I only wish that I were joking here) everything made more sense. Accordingly, I was so happy to find this mesh shower caddy to bring order out of the chaos. No more juggling shampoo & soap bottles off the communal, wet floor like a bad circus act at 6am for me. No siree. I have elevated my shower routine. This mesh caddy may seem delicate but it hangs tough in its weight class holding all of my mega bottles of product, bar soap, razor, towels & toothpaste & toothbrush stuffs needed for my morning routine - while hanging safely from a bathroom hook thanks to the handy strap included. It keeps all of my products dry while sparing them the fate of sitting on the communal floor in sad puddles. So in that sense, this mesh shower caddy is handy, hygienic and a welcome reprieve from the normal feral raccoon chaos going on in this bathroom. I have voted this item most likely to be stolen by a housemate here while I’m in the shower (yeah I see you Doris - eyeing my coveted caddy with envy). Two people actually asked me where I bought it - so that proves other people are even sizing it up as inherently useful - especially in chaotic bathroom situations with multiple users - like dorms or house shares. Pros: -Restores my sanity in a bathroom full of feral raccoons disguised as housemates -Has an efficient pocket for every potion & lotion - Prevents actual foot soaking (with other people’s feet ick in the mix) of my shower products Cons - Suspicious how much my housemates eyeball this mesh caddy with envy - The caddy generously holds so much stuff it will probably pull the cheap $1 hook off the wall I hang it from outside right the shower stall - that my landlord thoughtfully installed with spit & scotch tape & vibes & hopes - and considered it “an extraordinary expense & why can’t renters just be grateful to only have a shower head to stand under & nothing else?” (I’m beginning to suspect my landlord may be a holdover from the old mental asylum days of this place - but no solid evidence on that yet.) Will update in 90 days to let you know if the shower caddy product held up and if I still have it - or if one of my feral raccoon housemates ran off with it while I was belting out Ava Maria in the shower one morning. And honestly, if someone wants this caddy so much to brave my off key screechy singing whilst stealing it - they kinda earned it. But I hope to have it for a long time as my work takes me to some of the jankiest housing setups known to man - so I am certain this won’t be this beloved shower caddy’s only questionable bathroom setting. I ordered this portable shower caddy as an easy way to carry and hang my things when showering in campground bathhouses. This caddy serves some of my needs, but not all. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: *It has eight pockets around the outside and a large compartment in the middle. I can carry all my toiletries, brush, towel, and shower flip-flops. There's even enough room for my clothing in the summertime when all I need are shorts and a T-shirt. I doubt there would be enough room for all my clothes in colder weather, but that's to be expected. *The plasticized mesh material ensures that water will drain out, and the bag will dry quickly. Surprisingly, there's very little smell from the plastic. *From the photos on the product page, I couldn't tell if the handle was attached in the middle of each side or simply attached to the back. Fortunately, it's attached right in the middle, so the weight is evenly distributed. *It folds up flat for easy packing and transporting when not in use. *It has a carabiner on one side that you could use to attach keys or anything else that needs quick access. Cons: *Hanging options are limited. It doesn't come with a hook for hanging over a towel or shower curtain rod, and there's no buckle on the strap that would allow you to open and close it around a towel or shower bar. Not all shower stalls have a hook on the wall or door for hanging things, so I will need to provide my own S hook just in case. *The carabiner is not big enough to use as a hook, and since it's made of plastic, it wouldn't be wise to subject it to too much weight, anyway. *The strap is not great. First, it's not adjustable, so you can't change the length depending on where you need to hang it. It's also thin and feels flimsy. I'm wondering how long it will last before it comes apart from the bag. *Six of the 8 pockets are fairly narrow. Small shampoo bottles will fit, but nothing bigger than what you can see in my photos. I go to the pool a lot and I like these open mesh bags so that I can see where things are and that everything in the bag and the bag can dry out afterwards. It's much better than using grocery style bags. It has a large capacity and could fit a towel and everything else to take to the pool.
