When I got the mugs, I thought they were plastic because they were so light weight. Not so, definitely glass. Weight is wonderful for old hands. Beautifully designed and a real bonus is that the handle does not get hot when used in the microwave. Highly recommend. Read more

Good mugs but failed after three years. Water gets inside from dishwasher so you have dirty water staining the inside of the glass. Hole is not in the right place. It’s in a depression of the glass bottom so water accumulated right there. Read more

I purchased these mugs in March of 2024. Out of the eight I bought, I am now down to one. They are not durable, the slightest bump and they shatter. So within months of the purchase, I was down to only four. They etch like crazy in the dishwasher (top shelf, high quality detergent). They look terrible and have for months. Last week, the handle broke off one (thank goodness it was an iced drink, not hot coffee). And then yesterday, I opened my dishwasher to find one of my remaining two, filled with water. It was disorienting because it was upside down (as you would put a glass in to be washed). At first glance, I thought it might have somehow accidently been in an upright position. But when I lifted it out, I realized it was filled with water, inside the double wall (and looked pretty disgusting). The broken piece of glass from the inside of the base was loosely floating around inside the double wall. Weirdest thing I would have never expected to see. It had nothing near it, but obviously broke during the wash/dry cycle at some point and was forced upward into the glass wall gap rather than washing down into the dishwasher. I've had these mugs for a while now. I'm on my third one. There is a design flaw that reveals itself over time. Double-wall glass needs an outlet to allow for expansion and contraction. These mugs have a tiny hole at the bottom that seems to widen over time. Eventually when you're washing the mu or when you set it on a wet spot, liquid will get between the double walls. You will never be able to get the stain out, so from that point on, your mug will look dirty. Bodum solves this issue by putting a little rubber-ish plug in the hole. That allows for expansion without allowing liquid to get in. These don't have that feature. Other than that, the 16-ounce mugs are a great size. They're attractive (until they get stained between the walls). And they are excellent insulators. The handle is comfortable, and the size is adequate for a lot of different coffee drinks. Read more
