Finally! An Amazon garment I like!
I got this (or rather -these-) light weight sweaters in "Green" - actually turquoise in color, and "White," which isn't actually paper white, but is close enough. I ordered both in size 3X. And that's what the sewn in tags state. I'm 5' 9," a bit over weight/bulky with long arms and a long torso and normally wear a size large to XL in tee shirts - depending on the style and cut. So, with these sweaters I decided to go for the 3X. I wanted lots of bagginess-ample room, drape and length -and- because I know these things often run smaller than advertised. In all fairness, the 3x in this is more of a 2X. Anyhow, the sweaters are close in size to one another, however I think the white one is only a tad bit larger. Additionally the neckline is defiantly more open on the white one. They both have the seam up the back as shown. And the necklines do have stretch to them. After I decided to keep them, I gave the 'green' one's neck line a good yank, and the seam didn't pop. I figured if it did pop, I'd alter the neckline myself and open it up a bit more. But it didn't pop and it stretched more than I anticipated! So that's a plus. And when worn off the shoulder (not forced to), the sleeve reaches my fingertips. I can either add a thumb hole to the sleeves or roll them up because there is room for that. They don't actually taper at the wrists, which is a very good thing, in my book. Although the sweaters are slightly see-through the only way I can describe the fabric is that it's about 5'x the thickness or weft of a heavier Fruit of the Loom tee shirt. However it is NOT like tee shirt fabric. It's defiantly a knit. And it's defiantly not cotton. It is a bat-wing style top, and I feel it can be worn knocking around the house, or dressed up with heels, a satin spaghetti strap type blouse and a nice pair of slacks. It's a tiny bit scratchy on my arms, but not intolerable. It's probably a polyester blend. I'm hoping it doesn't pill. But for the price I paid, I can't really complain. 2 tops for under $40? That's hard to beat! I'll be wearing a 'sketti-strap cotton tank under these to cover my torso and probably wear the sweater/s for fun outings mostly with distressed jeans, a pair of white Keds, or my hiking boots, come fall. I suspect these sweaters may make me too warm otherwise. The sweaters are defiantly baggy & comfortable and can be worn free flowing, knotted off to the side, or slightly tucked into the front of a pair of pants/jeans. I love that the sweaters cover my fanny with a little length to spare. I'm not a big fan of leggings or jeggings, but I can now at least wear them out without feeling self conscious. ;) Read more
