Made of a ribbed-knit material of 95% cotton, it's soft enough, but not super-soft like a ribbed-knit sweater would be. Sizewise, the 0-3 months size seems like it is just the right size. Plus the ribbed knit should be able to "stretch" s he grows into it. The blue color (and the "LIL BRO" emblazoned on it) makes it obvious the little tyke is a boy. Even though it's lighter than some fall/winter/spring outfits for newborns, it does have the feet built right in. And a newborn will probably almost always be swaddled in a blanket, so maybe heavier material would be TOO warm for the little guy. Plus, the hat will help keep his head warm, so that's a plus. There are snaps all the way down from the neck to the ankles, with no zippers or buttons, so getting him in and out of the garment will be, you could say, "a snap -- or 12"! I couldn't take photos of this outfit on a baby boy since he's not born yet but it is oh, so cute! It's a bit stiff so I'm going to wash it before giving it to a newborn but the fabric is a nice, stretch cotton and will be softer once washed. I love the olive color since pastel baby clothes are far too common, and it is sewn well, no loose threads, and the little caps on the sleeve ends so the baby won't scratch themselves, in addition to keeping baby's hands warm, give it a high quality look. Very cute, I’m not sure yet how it will hold up in the wash but I’ll edit my review if something goes wrong. The quality is good, the clothes are just a bit “starchy” and stiff, but washing should fix that right up! They look exactly like the picture and seem true to size. I ordered this for a baby shower gift for a family member. It arrived in shrink wrap and totally wrinkled. This pic was after I tried straightening it out. The words “Hello I’m new here” is barely adhered by a cheap iron on. I feel like the first wash would take it all off. The sleeper has a hole ripped into it where the sewing was not done well. I hate leaving negative feedback, but I don’t want someone else to have a similar experience. I’m returning it, and buying something else in a store. Read more
