I put this pen on a ball chain attached to my belt loop for work. I was breaking pens in my pocket or losing pens to bending down. The plastic seems to be holding up so far and I've had it for a week without losing it so I'm good with it. It's a sharp pen so it punches through some soft material like cardboard but grips and writes great. Read more

This is a really good pen, it is sturdy and writes well even for a left handed person. Read more

This pen is very comfortable to hold thanks to its textured stainless steel grip, which prevents slipping even during long writing sessions. It writes smoothly and consistently with no skipping or interruptions. The ink dries quickly, which helps prevent smearing, even for left-handed users. The pressurized refill works well in all conditions and the pen feels balanced and durable. It’s easy to carry and use every day, and the sleek matte black finish adds to its professional look. Overall, excellent quality and great value for anyone needing a dependable pen.. Read more

Pros: 1. Longest I've ever hung onto the same pen with daily use 2. Durable 3. Ink lasts a really long time 4. Writes in fairly tough conditions 5. It's a click pen!!! 6. Can attach to a lanyard so you always have it readily available! Cons: 1. Today, the tip of the pen is just ... Gone? It was on there yesterday. 2. No soft grip. Metal isn't as comfortable as other pens 3. Ink becomes a little lighter in below freezing conditions outdoors, but still more legible then other pens in extreme cold. Summary: I got tired of losing my good click pens at work, so I decided to spring for a pen that I could attach to my lanyard. Attaching it has provided two benefits - first, I still have the same pen, which is a miracle since I ordered it October 1st!! Second, it is very handy on my lanyard. I can write what I need for work in many situations without even detaching it, and even after six months of use, I still haven't needed to use one of the included refills yet. The reason it only gets four stars is because somehow between yesterday and this morning, the metal tip fell out and is now missing. It didn't seem loose at all yesterday when I used it. The other thing is that it's not super comfortable to write with. The grip area could use a softer material, even if just a hard plastic, to increase writing comfort. Still, even with those nitpicks it's a solid pen, and I definitely recommend it to people tired of losing their pens at work all the time. Well worth the price!! Read more

I have had a few of the Zebra brand pens before. Not this one, but decent ones, half plastic. Very well made in Japan. I have had 3 Toyotas and like my Japanese made stuff. This tactical pen is cool looking and seems to work like it should and then some. I like when things have a more than one purpose. This is a daily use pen. The ink is nice too. Glad I got it. Will get some for presents. Read more

********UPDATE******* *******UPDATE********* I wanted to come back and write a brief update for this pen. At this point and time I have used this pen know for a week straight at work. I am still disappointed concerning the usage of plastic as originally mentioned for this (all metal) pen, however I will say the coating seems to have lost its slippery sensation after about a day of usage and no longer slips through fingers while writing. Perhaps the slippery sensation is due to manufacturing process ?? We will have to see if the internals of this pen suffer from same fate as the F-701 after 2 or 3 refills. For these reasons I have decided to switch from 1 star to 3 star. ********ORIGINAL REVIEW******* ******ORIGINAL REVIEW******* Let me start off by saying the Zebra F-701 was my favorite pen and in fact I still own several of them. The reason I am saying this is because the internals of that pen are in fact plastic which is what actually wears out and this X-701 is based off that pen. The reason why I have several is cause after so many refills, generally around 2-3 the internals are so worn from usage that the pen will not remain locked out when trying to write. Now to the point of this review... not only are the internals of this pen plastic, but the barrel/grip and also the lanyard loop of the pen is also plastic. The only parts of the pen that in fact are metal is the tip, body, and pocket clip. The non reflective coating used looks and feels like Teflon ( its not ) which makes the pen feel slick or almost slippery in hand while trying to write. There is nothing special about the refills either despite what number they have now been given, as you can see in the photo above it is just your standard ink refill. Let me come to a close with this review in saying that I am sorely disappointed in myself for believing that I would actually be getting an all metal pen and all metal internals for this price point @ ($12). I thought about just sending back for a refund but to be honest it would be more trouble and cost more time and fuel than I am willing to spend on it. I hope this helps anyone from making the same mistake that I have in assuming the X-701 is a more rugged, durable, and upgraded version of the F-701... IT IS NOT. Read more

I love these. I am a mechanic and carry it in my pocket. Fairly durable with the only negative being the plastic in the center of the pen. I used it to pop the tape on a box and broke my first one after carrying it for around 5 years. Not it's intended use but I had forgot my knife. Buy the refills and it will last you a long time unless somebody steals it. Read more
