I use puppy pads for my 3 dogs and I let the pads get soaked so I could test this product. It was gross but I can now say without a doubt this stuff works! I washed three pee soaked pads. I set the washer machine to soak them. I used one cap of Zep and my regular washing detergent (Gain). I would normally just use Gain and there would still be a slight smell but with the Zep included there's no smell at all. Read more

So this product is labeled “concentrate” and also is clear on the front label that it’s designed for solid surfaces like tile and in bathrooms. I’ve been searching for a product to use on my carpets at home to cut thru pet odors and urine and was willing to take the risk of using a product advertised for solid surfaces only and using it on fabric/rugs/carpeting figuring since it’s a concentrate I can dilute it down and knowing I needed a super heavy duty product to really eliminate odors for good. Well, get the product in the mail and set to dilute it down in a Zep spray bottle (which I HIGHLY recommend for cleaning solutions!) and go to read the dilution instructions but come to find out the directions say it can indeed be used on rugs and carpets (NOT just solid surfaces as labeled on the front) with no solution instructions for pet odor control for use on rugs/fabrics. Seemed kind of odd and I was worried about sticky product buildup on my carpets so I diluted it 1 part solution 4 parts water. I purchased this based on Amazon's minimal product info, and the comparisons with Febreeze in the reviews. However, now reading the bottle, it's a disinfectant and virucidal for hospitals, hotels, and bathrooms. It says that it "kills the bacteria which cause odors". Thus the "Odor Control" name, rather than "Odor neutralizer". I don't think I want to spray this on my couch, and I have no reason to think that it would remove any odors such as from gasoline, smoke, chemicals, or neutralize any odors that are already present. Febreeze is an entirely different type of chemical. Febreeze uses cyclodextrin to capture odor molecules inside the donut-shaped cylodextrin molecule. Our nose odor receptors can't detect the odor chemicals when they're trapped inside the cyclodextrin. The odors are then no longer attached to the fabric and the cyclodextrin-odor combination can be vacuumed away. I now have a gallon of disinfectant concentrate. It say to add 5oz to a gallon of water. That makes 25 gallons of disinfectant. I can now go disinfect a hospital. Read more
