I needed a bag for carrying long dresses on a plane to an out-of-state rehearsal dinner and black tie wedding. This bag was long and wide enough (and the material heavyweight enough) to protect my 3 gowns in dress covers, and it has great clips to cinch the sides after folding it. When I was in a hurry in the airport, one carrying strap accidentally got caught on the edge of a handrail, but it only pulled the strap out of the buckle; the strap didn't tear out of the bag (like I've seen reported on other bags), so I only had to re-thread it back into the buckle and go on my way. This bag carried a wedding dress by plane, train, and automobile, and it delivered. Here's what I liked, as well as a few things that I didn't. - Length. I was really happy with the extra length (72 inches) which gave the dress and train more room to hang. Air France, thankfully, had space in their closet and they released the clips so it could hang. This helped reduce potential wrinkles. - Water-resistant(?). I wasn't sure about how water-resistant the bag was, so I choose to keep my dress in it's original white bag as an additional layer of protection. - Pockets. I loved all the pockets. They are on both sides, which I didn't notice until the return trip. I liked that the inner pockets were clear so I was less likely forget anything. There was plenty of room for my shoes, veil, hoop skirt, jewelry, and other miscellaneous items. I was really only limited by the weight and bulkiness. - Straps. I was a little worried, based on other reviews, that the straps might not hold up. I had no trouble with them breaking or coming apart. The straps did become pretty uncomfortable due to the weight (about 5.5kg). So the straps could be improved to be more comfortable. For most though, it's probably a non-issue, the tux was super light in it's separate bag. While there was room in the bag for the tux, we choose to carry each separately to reduce wrinkling of both. - Size. Just slightly larger than the specified dimensions for Air France. I was really concerned that this might be an issue but I had no problem carrying on the bag. Pro tip: Consider your hanger carefully and consider bringing a spare in your luggage. My original hanger didn't make it back in the bag and the dress did not stay well on the replacement hanger. Overall I'm very pleased with this garment bag. Read more

I bought this bag to travel with my wedding dress this summer. it is very sturdy with many pockets and a thick material. Way thicker than the garment bag my dress came in. I haven't travelled with it internationally yet, but I will update this post when I do. But I will be able to travel with all my wedding wear in 1 bag! Update: I travelled with this bag and it held up SO WELL. Zero issues. Extra pockets are great and deep. Held all my dresses (wedding, rehearsal dinner and 2nd day) plus shoes and jewelry. We purchased this garment bag to help transport my wife's formal dress and my suit to travel by air from Texas to Niagara Falls for our daughters wedding. It was carried on the first plane and put in the plane belly with other carry on baggage. When we arrived in Atlanta to change planes and claimed the garment bag, one of the main buckles that held the garment bag together at the seem had broken and garment bag became unfolded. For the rest of the trip to destination and return home, I had to work hard to carry it without it un folding. Very cheaply made. Do not recommend. Read more
