This bed frame is perfect. It's well made and has a nice finish and color. It was packaged very well and carefully. All the screws are marked clearly and go along with the instruction steps. The instructions were easy to follow, but could have been a little clearer in some steps.. but overall they were great, and the bed went together quickly. They include a little ratchet tool that made it even easier. The frame, once put together is light and easy to move around, yet sturdy and well made. Where do I even begin? If you like the look of this bed, just buy it. From opening the packaging to putting on my sheets, I have zero regrets about this purchase. Pros - Packaging is solid and clean. The bed was in a box within the shipping box. The white protective foam inside, they're wrapped in plastic! Yes, wrapped! Maybe it's because I haven't bought any furniture in a while, but that was a pleasant surprise. No more little white specs flying all over the place! - Assembly - It comes with all the tools you'll need along with some spare bits. The best part was the little ratcheting screwdriver. Sure, the hex bit is fixed and you can't use it for anything else, but man does it make assembly go smoothly. I didn't even need to use the included allen wrench. The instructions and pre-drilled holes made putting this thing together simple. I didn't have to bend or force anything to fit, everything just came together. - Build Quality - For this price, this solid wood bed is a great value. I've been sleeping on it for several weeks now and it is stable with no squeaks. The wood pieces themselves look very nice. Cons - Assembly - I'm reaching here, but I HAD to put something down as a con. The wooden slats that line the bottom of the bed were not sanded down completely, so if you're not careful, a splinter may ruin your day. Also, those slats are stapled to some velcro straps at the ends which line up with the bedframe. I found myself pulling them out over and over to get them in place (maybe having 2 people at both sides would've made this step easier?). Other - The only "nice to have" idea I would drop to the manufacturer would be the inclusion of some felt pads to apply to the feet. Folks with carpet won't have any use for these, but us hardwood folks always appreciate some protection from furniture scrapes. Okay, lets talk about the bad to get that out of the way since I that's normally what I try to find in a review. 1. This is not the strongest bedframe, I know... you're very surprised. It says solid wood, and it is.. but it's basically comprised of 2x1ish boards that have been glued together to make 6" wide board, so while it's not pressed or engineered wood... "solid wood" is a bit of a stretch or at least a clever descriptor. Now you can't really tell looking at it that's the case, but during the assembly I noted a finger joint and thats probably the only way I would have know other than a picture from another review on here somewhere. I would say that it is strong enough. I am not a little guy, and I am fairly confident in a robust wrestling match on this bed won't dismember any toes. 2. The bottom of the main legs are very rough and do not come with a plastic or felt covering, they would 1000% destroy a non carpeted floor. Kinda a give to anyone with hardwood floors. The only reason I really bring it up is because I'm not sure if the center support was actually flush with the floor when the frame was assembled or the felt that I hot glued to the bottom are different thicknesses. 3. So there is essentially no lip on the frame to retain the mattress, there is some 2 sided tape which I'm sure would have worked but if I imagine that when you take the bed on and off for whatever reason it will become useless pretty quick. I'm going to but some grip tape and place it on the slats. I think that would have been a better long term solution. So that's really all the negatives I have about this frame. And in all honesty they are all a little nitpicky and none are a true reason to not buy it save the first, but lets be real here... I bought this frame for around 300 bucks... no one should expect something coming out of a custom woodmakers shop or something you're going to hand down to your children at that price point. The frame was easy to assemble, I did it by myself in 40min and that includes hot gluing felt to the bottom of the frames legs, it came with a convenient little ratcheting tool which I especially appreciated. The hardware is good quality, the wood is good enough, and the frame seems to be pretty solid when everything is tightened down. I can see needing some threaded inserts at some point down the line... But all in all would I recommend this bedframe... If it is still around 300 then yes, I would buy it again with out hesitation. Read more
If you are looking for a sturdy well made bed frame, you can’t go wrong here. Solid wood. Packed superbly with no scratches or damage. Styrofoam fillers are all encased in plastic so the traditional white snow particles during unpacking are non existent. GENIUS!!!! The instructions are so simple and clear, a child could put this together. The hardware is encased in shrink wrap and marked clearly and includes extras for each step. I just had total knee replacement 6 weeks ago and I did it. We need to lower our mattress so it shows better, but it is a really nice color. Very sturdy. I have ordered other frames and bedding items from this company before and will always continue to buy from them. Read more
