AI at Ventari

AI can make shopping more helpful. Responsibility stays with us.

Ventari is being built as an AI-first shopping company. That means AI is used where it can make product information easier to understand, questions easier to ask, and the work behind the store easier to improve.

It does not mean AI makes every decision or operates without limits. Ventari remains responsible for its products, orders, service, policies, and the experience it provides.

Why we use AI

current

A great deal of online shopping difficulty comes from information that is available but hard to use. Specifications may be written differently from one product to another. Important details can be spread across several sections. Customers may know what they need without knowing the exact words a search box expects.

AI can help bring relevant information together and explain it in a more natural way. That is where Ventari is focusing its use: helping customers understand products and helping the team behind the company research, build, review, and improve the experience.

The purpose is not to make technology the center of shopping. The purpose is to make shopping clearer.

Meet Ethen

current

Ethen is Ventari’s AI shopping assistant. Customers can open Ethen from the store and ask supported questions about products, categories, help information, and Ventari policies.

On a product page, Ethen can receive information about the product being viewed, including available specifications, price information, delivery details, returns information, and other product context. It can also retrieve related Ventari information before generating a response.

Ethen is designed to answer from the facts Ventari provides. When the available product or policy information does not support an answer, Ethen is instructed to say so and direct the customer toward search, help, or contact options rather than inventing a product, policy, specification, price, review, or compatibility claim.

What Ethen can and cannot do today

We believe customers should be able to understand the assistant’s boundaries before relying on it.

How Ethen is kept grounded

current

Before responding, Ethen can retrieve relevant information from Ventari’s store knowledge and combine it with the product a customer is currently viewing.

This approach gives the assistant a narrower and more useful job. It is not asked to answer from general memory when a Ventari-specific fact is required. It is asked to use the product and policy information made available to it.

When retrieval fails or no supported information is found, the assistant is designed to communicate that limitation. The rest of the store continues to work normally, so customers can keep browsing or use Ventari’s help and contact paths.

Your conversations and privacy

current

Ethen does not currently create a persistent shopping profile from your conversations, and conversations do not carry over when you reopen the assistant.

The current assistant request includes the question being asked, available product context, and a limited amount of recent in-session conversation history. It does not include access to a customer’s Ventari account or order history.

Information submitted to Ethen is processed to generate a response. Ventari’s privacy notice explains how customer information is handled more broadly, including services and systems outside the assistant itself.

Where accountability sits

Ventari remains responsible for its customers, products, orders, service, policies, and decisions. AI does not change who is accountable for the experience.

Built by Upcube

current

Ethen is built by Upcube, the technology organization behind Ventari’s AI work.

Upcube develops the assistant. Ventari decides how Ethen is presented and used in the store, what information it can access, and what role it is allowed to play in the customer experience.

We keep that relationship visible because customers should understand who builds the technology and who remains responsible for the shopping experience.

How AI supports the work behind Ventari

current

AI is also used as a working tool behind the customer experience. It can support research, product planning, software development, analysis, writing, review, and the effort to identify problems in product information.

Those uses are intended to help the team work with more context and move carefully across a broad set of tasks. They do not remove the need for human review, product judgment, or evidence.

Ventari’s standard is not whether AI was used. The standard is whether the final work is accurate, useful, and responsible.
