Good quality but VERY HOT! I have burned myself twice on the neck in the short amount of time I’ve had this. Guess I’m not used to the bigger barrel just yet. I do have a hard time with the buttons as I often press them on accident, changing the temperature. Read more

I have long straight asian hair that doesn't hold a curl, but this wand heats up really quickly and has a high temp setting options. I usually use the second highest setting and it works well to curl my hair. By the end of the day I still have soft waves. It's easy to use and my hair doesn't slip out of the barrel. It's a good iron for an affordable price. The travel-ability is not great because it's so large, but it does come with a nice storage pouch. Read more

This curling wand is very large. The barrel is 8” long and the handle adds another 8” inches for a total length of 16”. The heavy-duty cord is 6½ feet long. If you are planning to take advantage of the curling wand’s ability to automatically detect and convert itself from US power to European current, be sure that your carry-on bag is big enough to hold it. Also, be sure to purchase a plug adapter because one is not included. The package does have some good bonus items. The unit itself has a fold out stand that lifts the barrel an inch above the countertop, and there is a 6½” by 9” silicon pad to partially shield the counter surface from the intense heat radiating from the wand. Engineered quartz can tolerate a brief exposure to temperatures up to 300°F, but direct contact with a hot curling iron can melt, discolor or warp it. A laminate countertop is much less heat tolerant and can blister or delaminate at just 150–200°F. There is also a glove to protect your hand if you accidently touch the wand. It has silicon bumps on both sides and can be worn on either hand. The unit heats up very quickly and cools down very slowly. Its temperature can be adjusted from 280 to 430 degrees. Keep in mind that water boils at 212 degrees and skin can suffer third degree burns at 162 degrees. Hair is flammable and can actually ignite at 451 degrees. (Remember the book Fahrenheit 451?) This wand’s top temperature is very close to that ignition point, and it could cause dryness, breakage, and singeing if the curl is held too long. Obviously, the wand should be kept out of the sight and reach of children and never be left unattended. I'm giving this curling iron five stars, but it could be a tragic 1-star tool if it's not used with great care. Read more
This is the curling iron I needed for my long hair. The barrel is long enough to get through big sections quickly without tangling. It heats up fast and the curls come out smooth and last. It feels well made and the glove and mat are nice extras. Read more
