The rigidity of the bamboo sticks takes a bit to get used to. After a couple of uses, I adjusted…don’t need to be as forceful as my usual ones. Less cotton at the tip than the brand name ones, but enough cotton there to get the job done. Can’t beat the price though. The quantity in each box and compact box were great on my 5-weeks trip. The only downside of the box is that it doesn’t seal well. I resolved that by wrapping the box inside a quart size ziploc bag. Read more

These cotton swabs are great if you follow the "never put anything in your ear canal" directive. The cotton ends are generously sized and tightly packed, the bamboo sticks are smoothly finished and 90% of them are strong enough to resist breakage even with very firm pressure (a few are thin, brittle, or have grain orientation that allows them to break without excessive force), and the packaging is nicer than the typical Q-tip or store brand packages you find at the drug store or grocery store. However, the tips can be pulled off with fairly light pressure, or rotation in the opposite direction from how the tip was wound on to the stick, which makes them a risky proposition for cleaning ear canals, which despite the lawyer speak on packaging, is a thing that many of us use cotton swabs for. 100% recommended for hobby or makeup use, as well as cleaning the outer ear, absolutely *not* safe for cleaning inside the ear canal!
