I put these brackets on a newer wooden fence and didn’t use the plastic anchors, thinking I didn’t need them going into the wood. The screws weren’t going into the wood very easy but ended up drilling holes first then screwing them in. Drill wasn’t working well at all with this. Had to use the old fashioned way: Phillips screwdriver 🙄🙄😁😁 But they are very sturdy for the solar lights I have hanging from. Read more
