This device provides a convenient solution for jump starting your vehicle if you already have DeWalt batteries sitting around like I do. It's generally more cost efficient than dedicated battery jump starters I've seen on the market since it requires you to have your own battery. One of the biggest benefits in my mind, aside from the reduced cost, is that I like to keep a jump starter battery in the car at all times but they need to be routinely charged back up. With a normal one, that usually means pulling it into the house over night for a charge, then remembering to put it back in the vehicle the next day. With this one though, since I have extra DeWalt batteries, I pull a fresh battery out of the garage, swap it with the one in my truck and throw the depleted one on the charger. No more having the starter out of the vehicle and forgetting it on a charger. I'd call the build quality average for the non-OEM products that use DeWalt batteries. That is to say that this one, like most non-OEM products, are fully functional with no significant issues but have the fit and finish a bit below that of a major name brand. There's also no case or existing protection to keep the clamps from bouncing around and making an electrical connection if rattling around in a toolbox. Still though, I feel it's a good value and perfectly serviceable. You may just want to put some thought into a case and ensuring no inadvertent electrical connections are made in storage. Read more
This review is for the JJFX 12V Car Jump Starter Adapter for Dewalt 20V MAX Battery. I have a riding mower at a remote location that is not used a lot. Because there is no Mains power at that location, I have to rely upon either a solar panel/battery system to keep the battery charged, or to use someht9ng like this. I have plenty of 20v Dewalt Max batteries, so I decided to try this. It works! I was able to start the mower after a few tries. The conductors did get a little warm by the 3rd try, but it worked on the 4th start attempt. This is a nice little bit of kit, and could be used for powering a lot of 12vDC projects like LED lights, HAM radios, etc. This is perhaps a little expensive for what you are getting, but it IS a nicely finished package that can be dropped into a work bag and put to work easily. Haven't had to use it yet but it looks like it will work Read more
I have only used this on smaller engines such as lawnmowers, generators, etc. But it is nice for a dead battery you weren't expecting when trying to get the grass mowed before a rain! It beats dragging out some old jumper cables and trying to get your car parked close enough to get it all hooked up. So far, it's been pretty handy! Read more
