This product is not worth the money, if you have one dog that pulls, even slightly more than the other, this leash coupler is not for you. I was expecting a much longer leash. I have big dogs, one tall one short. The bungee is so short it makes walking two dogs even more difficult. Honestly, I do not know what breed of dog this would benefit. Had I thought of this years ago…. Besides being a time saver it is built well for the two large dogs I have. One at 70 lbs and the other at 60 lbs. Makes them work in tandem on the walk with one bringing the other along when the stopping and sniffing occurs. I think the hardware clips from the splitters to the harness or collar could be a bit beefier, but they work fine. There’s enough length in the two sides to allow for the dogs to turn, cross over, and generally walk as if on one lead. Elasticity of the leads is negligible for my too sled dogs (in their minds), but we’ll see how it holds up over time. Would serve well for small dogs on the resistance level. Read more

My husband and I had two Australian shepherds, and we wanted a third, but we didn't know how we could walk all three at once. They are strong and the two got tangled when we each had one on walks, and we couldn't imagine walking three with just the two of us. We were really hesitant to add a third dog to our lives because of how it could change our ability to take our dogs places, but when I found this splitter, and it completely changed the game. When it says "tangle free" it really means it! Today we took our three dogs on a 5k, with two of them on the splitter, and there were no issues the whole time! The bungee quality is great, too, because it lets the dog know when they're getting too far without a sharp pull that would tug you and the other dog as well. The bungee is pretty strong, too -- I was worried it would be too loose and not make a difference, but our dogs are strong and they definitely feel it when they get too far away from each other. This coupler does its job and lets you walk two dogs at the same time. It’s convenient to only need one leash. The dogs don’t get tangled since the connections have swivel rings, so the dogs always end up straight again if they do move apart or cross. Watch out though if one dog walks behind you and then moves to the opposite side- you could be taken out. You just have to be aware and be quick on your feet to move out of the way and move the dog back to where it needs to be. All of the connections seem strong and secure. It keeps the dogs at a perfect distance apart to where they aren’t crowded next to each other but are still close enough together to navigate narrower sidewalks. The main issue is that it doesn’t feel as strong of a hold as a normal leash. It has a bungee type of feel to it, so it feels like a looser grip. Also at times when I needed a quick, closer grip on the dogs, I found myself having to grab the leash connection ring itself to hold them and keep them at a safe distance. Even using a leash with a handle near the bottom doesn’t help that problem since the handle isn’t quite close enough when you need to have a firm grip on the dogs and keep them within a couple feet of you. For me the coupler will be perfect for walking two dogs that are easy to control in a quiet area that doesn’t have a lot of traffic. I won’t use it for walking with a dog combo that includes a stronger dog that has a tendency to pull since it doesn’t have a close enough, strong hold that you need for that type of dog. Read more

Update: I've been using this for every walk for the past three months and I love it so much. I even use it when I'm with someone who could hold the other dogs leash for me, just because it doesn't tangle! Normally with two leashes my dogs are looping them constantly in their exploration but with this, it's just one leash and I don't have to worry about it! I had to make an adjustment, though. I have a new puppy who's kinda dumb and he doesn't know how to lift his leg when it gets caught underneath him and it was always doing that and he seemed uncomfortable, so I stopped using his harness. I still put the harness on him because it's bright orange, but now I hook the leash to his collar and since the collar also turns a little bit, it doesn't get tangled! Not exactly sure how it works but I know it does. My other dog still uses her harness when using this because she knows to lift her leg and it doesn't bother her. Lastly, I will say that if you have two strong dogs, and you're not super strong, this isn't for you. When my two dogs get excited on this leash it's often really hard to control them, because it's two dogs against one of me and they're stronger than you realize. They're about 30lbs though and I'm 110. So just remember that it might be hard to control them if they're pulling super hard. Original review: Loooove! The only bad thing is my puppy kept yanking on the leash when my dog was trying poop... But the good far outweighs the bad! It didn't get tangled even once!
