These are nice shorts. The material is thin so they are cool and dry quickly the two zippered pockets, one on each hip, are great for smartphones and wallets. The construction is solid on these. All the stitching is straight and well done. A wide elastic waist holds then up securely and comfortably. These have low waist, sit just above the hips and sizing is on the small size. Be sure to look at their size chart. It looks to be accurate. I usually wear an XL in shorts like this but they are snug on me. I should have looked at the size chart. That's on me. They are nice looking and even though snug on me, there is plenty of freedom of movement. Great for any activity where sweating is an issue or for those extremely hot summer days. I’ve been a bit on the fence with these. They aren't exactly my usual style, but after wearing them for a bit, they’ve definitely earned a spot in my regular rotation. Here’s the breakdown of why they landed a solid four stars for me: The Highlights: Insane Drying Speed: These dry incredibly fast. I took them out of the wash and they were practically ready to wear immediately. I never run these through the dryer (they don't need it), and they’re great for staying cool since any moisture evaporates almost instantly. Functional Pockets: The double pockets are a great touch, but the real winner is the zippered pockets. They kept my phone and keys completely secure while moving around. True to Size: I ordered a Medium and the fit is spot on. They fall just above the knee when standing, very similar to the product photo. (Note: I do not look like the model in the photo, so I'm doing everyone a favor by not posting a picture of me wearing them!) Quality Build: The construction is impressive for the price. The drawstrings have nice capped ends, the stitching is well-finished, and I haven't seen a single wayward thread or any fraying after several washes. The Catch: The only thing I struggled with was the fabric feel. It isn't the typical texture I’m used to for activewear. It felt a little different at first, though I will say it has started to soften up significantly with each wash. Overall: I’m keeping these in the rotation and expect them to keep getting softer over time. These shorts are comfortable breathable and lightweight as advertised, but not the best quality. Although they are athletic shorts and made for quick drying, they should also be good material to hold up during intense workouts or maybe be a little thicker material. I have worn other pieces of clothing that were thicker and felt much more durable and was still very breathable and comfortable. So, although they fit well and have these features, my biggest concern is the durability and material quality. Instead of feeling like a good quality pair of athletic shorts, they feel more like cheaper swim trunks without the inner liner. So, yes they will stay dry and dry quickly and good for workouts and comfort, but don’t expect the best quality pair of shorts or them lasting a long time. But they also aren’t horrible and should last a reasonable amount of time. I just prefer my clothes to feel a little more durable than these feel. If lightweight is your primary concern, then these should suit your needs, but if you prefer better materials and build quality, like I do, then you may want to pass on these and try something else. These feel like swimming trunks and my husband didn't care for that feel. They do seem like they're made nicely and they are very lightweight. We got large which is his normal size and it fit well around the waist but they were definitely very short on him, with the hem landing well above the knee. It could be that he wears them too high but I don't think so. I think he usually wears them a little to low. Overall, he probably won't wear them but it's more about his aversion to this material and the length of them, but it doesn't mean that they're not a good quality short, as long as you prefer this style. The best part about these shorts is the unique zippered side pockets which are the perfect place to store your phone, keys and/or wallet without having to worry if you'll lose your stuff during a workout. This feature alone gives the shorts 5 stars in my book. The material is very lightweight and has a bit of stretch to it, plus it's a moisture wicking synthetic fiber which is an essential feature for an athletic short. It's basically a swimsuit without the lining, but with awesome pockets. They are definitely on the "short" side and the hem is above the knee. They cost $36 for the pair, so very fairly priced too.
