Lighters can be handy when starting a BBQ or camping stove. On a few occasions, when the gas lights, there is a large puff of flame. I wanted to get a flame lighter that extended away and this one works perfectly. It lights every time I press the trigger. The neck fits back in the body without issue. There is a window on one side to show fuel level and I had zero problems filling it. The flame does make a sound but not too loud. The only issue is that the cap is not securely attached with a snap. We like the adjustable neck on this lighter, makes getting into smaller spaces easy. It's not so big that it feels bulky if you have it in your pocket and it's not so small that you feel like you're going to break it. I wasn't sure what to expect for the price but I'm pleasantly surprised that it's as good of quality as it is. Read more

The media could not be loaded. This is an initial review. I hope to add updates later. This two pack of storm proof lighters is $9.99 today on 2025/10/13. (I bought it at 7.99 during the recent Prime Day event.) The lighter is well made with some great features. The flexible and extendable neck is great for aiming the flame in tight spaces such as at the base of a pile of firewood. It's not quite long enough to reach the burner inside a typical grill, but it would be totally adequate for small camping stoves and maybe even larger camping stoves. I do wonder how strong the neck is and worry about the longevity. It doesn't have a lid that closes over the top, but the lighter does come with a plastic cap that is affixed to the body of the lighter by a thin chain. The cap doesn't snap shut onto the top of the burner. I wish it positively snapped onto the burner so that it didn't fall off too easily. The chain is a little flimsy looking, but it's only a $5 lighter, so maybe it's expected. Also, because it doesn't have a lid that closes over the burner and the push button switch, the button could accidentally be pressed and drain the gas while stored in a survival bag or maybe even in the pocket. (They do make covers to slide onto a BIC lighter to prevent accidental discharge, but that won't fit on these lighters.) Maybe items like lighters should be simpler especially if it will be used as EDC or in a survival bag. Cheap BIC lighters are fairly reliable. Sometimes, it's better to Keep It Simple and Stupid. If you're going to put this in your survival bag, I would suggest you play with it a bit before you commit to relying on this lighter to function. One should definitely keep waterproof matches in a survival bag as well as lighters. ****UPDATE 2025/11/24**** I added a video of the flame, at the smallest flame setting. By the way, with the cap on, the lighter will not light (because the flame needs oxygen), which is good, but however long the button is pressed, gas releases. Read more
I’m a glass 1/2 full type of guy so I try to look at the positive side of things with that being said I attempted to make a case for giving these 2 stars because they offer these in a set of 2 with the thought of using one to jump the other when they undoubtably fail on you but after finding out a new quirk of there characteristics & being almost set on fire when they leak from the body & singe all my arm hair off I just couldn’t do it, these are a cool design I agree but that is where the positives end. I wanted to get something to carry in my tool bag. I needed something that won’t get lost like the smaller bic lighters. I also wanted the lighter to with stand getting banged around or dropped. The goose neck can come in handy so I don’t burn my finger tip while trying to light something when in a small cramped situation. Like when I have to heat up shrink wrap tubes on electrical wires. I filled them both up and they take a good amount of fuel. They feel strong and sturdy in my hand. I have not put them through the paces yet. My wife saw them and tried to steal them to light the three thousand and Les it seems we have. Read more
