UPDATE 🚩🚩🚩as if it wasn't bad enough receiving an effective product and constantly having to work and rig the product to work until you could find the time to gain a replacement when it is a highly needed work supported item. The seller thought it amusing or humorous to make a mockery of my terrible buying experience with their terrible product by reaching out after my review and making empty gestured offers to provide a refund for the poor experience. Only to renege the offer after I responded to them with the acceptance, with a reply to go Amazon and follow the process for a return to get a refund. go to Amazon return to product response. That was terrible mind you, I never reached out to the seller to complain about the issue or requested support from them. I was going to follow the process for the Amazon return policy as a prime customer to have this product returned properly and a more convenient time for me. I did however submit my review of this product and experience prior to doing so. The seller obviously found their contact to me to be a vengeful way to get back at the negative review by playing games with their customer support. That is absolutely outrageous especially for someone who did not come to them and certainly didn't do it in a negative or combative way. To find it amusing to make light of or play infantile or juvenile games with your consumer after you've provided them a poorly constructed product and a even lesser customer service experience is the epitome of a poor and failed customer valued attitude. I would strongly strongly suggest not purchasing this monitor or anything from the seller should your experience or your product be even worse than mine you will be taking a chance on receiving adequate support or worse being taunted by the seller for their lack of commitment to quality. Do yourself a favor find another seller and make sure they are not in any way shape, form or fashion affiliated with this seller they are bad all the way around and I would not deal with them any further. This is a well-priced monitor with all the right set of inputs. However, there are a few issues that really need attention. They are: 1. Brightness. This is, IMO, a very dim monitor. Even at top brightness, this monitor is far dimmer than my other monitors (and I have a lot of monitors) when they are about 60%-70% brightness. This really needs correction. 2. Control buttons: The control buttons for this monitor or on the back of the monitor. Why? This makes if very difficult to set monitor settings or turn the power on/off. And the button layout diagram shown in the manual is ordered as if you are standing at the back of the monitor. If you are trying to operate the control buttons from the front then you need to remember the reverse the diagram in your mind while trying to manipulate the settings. All in all, a very cumbersome process. 3. USB-C. I thought this monitor was supposed to be able to be controlled via a USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 cable. However, connecting my 2020 iMac to the monitor via a USB-C cable did not work. I had to revert and purchase a USB-C-to-HDMI cable instead. 4. As best I can see, there is no online manual for this product. That means you better not lose the original paper manual. In this day and age all I can ask is "Why would you not have an online manual?" At this point, I probably would not recommend this monitor and would probably steer away from the Thinlerain brand given the vast wealth of competition in the price range. Read more
