These are really nice cotton swabs. They are well made and feel sturdy. The cotton swabs are large and tightly wound around the sticks. I haven't found any swabs with loose cotton or fraying. The swabs are very soft to the touch and have a lot of surface area. The swabs work perfectly for things like cleaning ears or applying medication. The sticks are long and sturdy, which makes the swabs easy to use. They also come in a nice plastic box for storage. I ordered the swabs to apply medicine to my dogs. Every time I use regular cotton swabs to clean my pups ear there is two problems, neither of which I encountered using these. One they are too short and since my dog gets chronic ear infections I will end up with black junk on my fingers. Second the shape of the dogs ears and depth make it so that the smaller cotton swabs end up bending and have to use so many more because the cotton part is much smaller. This one is on a longer wooden stick so no bending and no gunk on my fingers. It also gets more out with one swab because the cotton part is longer. These are large, long swabs that are good for cleaning in the deep ear canals of larger dogs, as well as using between their paw toes, and other places that it might be hard to get too easily with your hands directly. For example, my dog doesn’t like me getting my hands directly around their eyes to clean, but for some reason the longer swab held in my hand works just fine. I have no idea why that is. These are on nice strong sticks, which I think they said are bamboo. And they have cotton on the end, which is sizable and useful. Do not use these on human ears, obviously, but for other areas of the body, these swabs are very helpful! I used mine most recently for applying prescription ointment to an deep infected cut on my wrist, since the cotton portion is much wider than one on typical Q-tips! My dog has majestic, floppy ears that are prone to wax. Standard cotton swabs are too short and flimsy. These are LONG and have a sturdy bamboo stick that doesn’t bend mid-clean. The cotton tip is secure and soft. I feel like I can actually reach the outer canal safely without poking around blindly. · Pros: The length is perfect for dogs. Very sturdy. The media could not be loaded. These dog ear swabs have a large cotton head, about 1 1/2 inches long. These will certainly reach inside my dog's ear and clean the sides of the ear canal as well. I like that they arrive in a sturdy storage box and they are packaged in 4 packs of 50 swabs each. Each swab is about 6 inches long. The wood handles are a good quality smooth wood, as good as I need handles on ear swabs to be. The handles are rigid and do not flex; however, I personally do not need them to do so.
