My new desk has a hutch with no light and I have something similar at home so I got this long LED light to help light up my workspace. It is awesome! It has five color settings, which is great because I don’t like harsh white light. It actually plugs in so I don’t have to keep taking it down to recharge it. It has a hand wave sensor to turn it on and off, which is very sensitive so I might have to unplug it when I want it firmly off. You can also get more than one and string them together, but this is long enough. I only need the one. Read more

RECOMMENDATION: Thumbs Up: Brighter than you would think and the hands-free works well THE GOOD: 1. The light bar is a lot brighter than I expected, given its 600 lumen rating. I was replacing a 25w florescent with this bar, and they are both about equivalent in the amount of light they put out. 2. The light bar is pretty thin and has a good visual esthetic. 3. The hands-free on/off and dimming sensor works well in daylight and nighttime. 4. The lenses obscure the individual LED chips, which provides consistent dispersed light. 5. You can dim the light bar and also change the light temp via the hands-free sensor, and that works well too. First time I have seen a hands-free sensor support dimming. 6. You can connect together multiple light bars, as they include both a cable and a direct-connect plug for this purpose. 7. The mounting method for the light bar is via pretty small screws that are hidden under removeable covers at each end of the bar. Looks good once mounted. THE BAD: 1. The only real downside with the light is because you can connect multiple lights, the power supply can get overwhelmed pretty easily. The 24” light bar uses 10 watts and the power supply is only 24 watts. So you can connect two 24” lights together max. I need to connect 2 24” and an 18” all together, so going to have to cobble together a power supply to make that happen. The connector on the power supply is also proprietary, so going to have to cannibalize that. 2. Despite the above, I like the bar and bought two more for under-cabinet lighting for a desk. Read more

The ZONE INDUSTRY CORP. 18 inch Under Cabinet LED Light is a great addition to our home. It is lightweight, made of metal and plastic, yet feels very durable. I mistook this for a wireless light; however, it still works perfectly for under a cabinet as long as there is an electrical outlet within range. It was a bit awkward to install, but I had the hubby assist and knocked it out easily (just needed an extra set of hands). I love that it is so thin as it gives the appearance of modern under cabinet lighting in my kitchen, I will be ordering a couple more to complete the entire area. The hands-free convenience is amazing; I am still getting used to having the light available and love that in the middle of preparing a meal all I have to do is wave my hand for it to come on. VERY CONVENIENT!! The light is brighter than I expected, which is great, and I love that it is dimmable by simply holding my hand in place. It is also convenient that I can connect additional lights if I decide to do that. This light is great for any area whether it be walking into a hall, closet, under cabinets, in decorative shelving/cabinets or crafting/worktables.
