Thin & clean line + Doesn't break + Smudge proof & long lasting color = New must have!
I have been using thin 1.5mm-2mm Asian eyeliner pencils for many years and my favorites are Judydoll, Etude, and Pinkflash. In April, I was running low, so went to Yesstyle as usual and uh oh, all these were "unavailable for delivery" to the US. I checked many other websites and of the ones that carried one or more of these eyeliners, they were out of stock/unavailable, won't be in stock until July, or the prices were easily 4 to 5 times what I usually paid (the Pinkflash pencil is under $4 on Yesstyle, one website wanted close to $20). I went to the Ulta store and the Ulta website and what in the world, there were very few 1.5mm-2mm eyeliners to choose from. I bought 2 to try and nope, no good. Then, I checked on Amazon Prime and found about 6 possibilities; I bought 3 from different brands. However, I had very low hopes because the reviews aggregates--if reviewed at all--were all 3 stars and the brands were from goodness-knows-where. This Jutqut eyeliner pencil in dark brown has become a favorite, replacing (!) Judydoll and Etude, and beats Pinkflash in two ways. This eyeliner is described as a gel pencil; I don't think it is. It doesn't have that soft, smooth, gliding application of gel pencils. Doesn't bother me. 1--The dark brown color is a rich, saturated neutral brown. No warm, yellow-y brown here! 2--The pencil is hard but applies smoothly and evenly; in fact, it is thin and hard enough to use on eyebrows to draw individual hairs. Still, it isn't irritating, even when I use it to tightline the top waterline and the gaps between the waterline and eyelashes. 3--The pencil is thin and remains thin, no need to "sharpen" it after every use by swiping the tip/sides on a palette or piece of paper. 4--Despite the hardness, the pencil DOES NOT break or chip, and I am heavy-handed. All of the 3 prior favorites broke and/or chipped with every application. 5--It is smudge proof and stays on my oily skin very well, without fading or shifting or flaking, even on hot summer days when I've been outside for hours. This is probably because the formula is dry, there is no dry-down. After applying eyeliner, I always shape the line with a small brush. With this pencil, I have to dab the brush in a bit of moisturizer or foundation because the eyeliner isn't going anywhere otherwise. 6--The pencil is easily retractable. With my prior favorites, if I twisted out too much, too bad, so sad, because trying to retract them won't be successful. 7--There is waaaaaay more product in this pencil than any more of my prior favorites. This eyeliner has knocked the Judydoll and Etude house off the favorites list. And as for the remaining favorite, Pinkflash, she is in danger. Pinkflash breaks/chips, Jutqut doesn't. Pinkflash isn't as smudge proof or lasts as long as Jutqut. The Jutqut eyeliner is the new champion! Read more
