Customers find the knife sharpener effective, with one mentioning it works well on planer knives, and another noting it's great for kitchen and household tools.

I tried using the 1200 grit stone to sharpen a new, unused knife without any success. I had to first use the 600 grit stone to achieve a sharp blade. Afterward I was able to improve the knife edge with the 1200 grit stone. The rubbery backing ensures you don't abrade the surface under the stone, but it doesn't prevent the stone from sliding. All in all, they appear to be of high quality. I haven't used them very long, but they show no signs of wear. I'm quite satisfied with the purchase. Read more
I saw a you tube video where the guy that had these stated the importance of breaking them in. The manufacturers put extra diamond on them when made, knowing that some will be lost as they age. Once you start to use these, they will feel much finer than when you got them. The 1200 grit felt much more aggressive when I first got them, but now that I have used them quite a few times, they feel as they should. These are a budget friendly set of sharpening stones. Don't expect $300 quality for less than $20. I do feel that they are a great value for the price. Definitely would be great for sharpening old chisels or trying to restore a heavily worn blade. They have worked very nicely for my cheap set of knives going from a knife that would cut a grape to slicing thru without effort. Exactly what I needed and do the job well. The foam on the back of the stones is not really grippy on my formula counter top so I put them on a sheet of rubber mat. They are very thin, so it is a bit hard to use my normal technique. I would suggest raising them up on a block of wood or something of the like. Read more
Well I don't know what sharpeners other customers are gushing about, but the "600β and " 1200β grit plates I received today lost a Significant Amount of diamond grit. This was after only 2 kitchen (!) knives undergoing light, maintenance type of sharpening. I mean, yes, they only cost $10. But that's not at all a sustainable or effective use of a sharpening tool. It is, of course, possible that I was unlucky and received a couple of plates that slipped through QC at mfg. facility. In any event I am giving the seller/Amazon the benefit of the doubt and have settled on a 3 star grade for my review in preparation for return immediately. Read more
My big case pocket knife was getting dull, hit it 4 licks on each side with each plate, then hit it 4 licks on each side of a leather stick strop ,had 3000 grit on the rough side of strop and 8000 on the smooth side, and it easily shaves my arm like a razor, less than 2 minutes foe a great edge, these are just what the doctor ordered for our commercial meat cutting knifes. We have some cheaper knifes and nothing Will sharpen a cheap knife Read more
The media could not be loaded. I didnt expect much when purchasing this set because they were so cheap, I was wrong. Along with a leather strop these got my dull Amazon basic chisels to a razor sharp finish able to shave hair off my arm with ease. They do discolor quickly so make sure to keep them clean. Very easy to use. For less than $15 I feel that I got a professional finish, you really can't beat that. Read more

Nice diamond sharpening plates. Surprisingly, I found the finest plate (e.g., 1500 grit) to be the most useful. I keep the knife blade I'm sharpening wet with water (helps clear the ground steel and limit the dust deposited around the work area. Prefer these to even very fine (8000 grit) traditional whetstones. Read more
Probably one of my best purchases. Works great! Read more
