Perfect for metal shelves! I didn't have to use the adhesive disks that came with these Amazing rechargable magnetic lights. My oldest son is an artist and his work is showcased as it deserves to be with these wonderful lights I put a strong magnet on the shelf above. It magnetizes the entire flat area above the artwork, this allows me to move and make different set ups. There is a remote that looks handy that I have not used yet.
