Thanks to other reviews, I gave these a try for c.p. erasing, and they do an excellent job. They cleanly erase heavy applications (I use a "burnishing" technique, which some call a "hard" technique, but the idea is to layer on the color until no paper color or texture is left). They didn't work as well on some colors, and I'm not sure why – I imagine it's because of the pigment in the pencil or the way it was applied (i.e., thickly without other colors or white to build up the color). They also didn't affect the surface much at all, and I was able to go back in with other colors without any problem. I'm a long-time professional illustrator that worked traditionally before going digital, and color pencils were heavily used in some of my techniques so I have a lot of experience with a variety of erasers when it comes to eliminating or reducing color areas (say, to increase a reflected light on a form). These are easily as good or better than any I've used. Really glad to find something like this, since many of my favorite eraser pencil brands no longer exist. So if you're looking for a good/great c.p. eraser, these are as good as any ever made. No pencil eraser will do everything (even though these come close), so to fully erase the most stubborn areas the next item to consider is an electric eraser – they're cheap enough these days, and the speed at which the eraser turns really cleans up a trouble area quickly. The promos are asking me about drawing ability and battery life, and neither apply to this item. Ease of use? I was hopeful that these detail erasers would be helpful for my colored pencil drawings. They do erase stray edge marks of Prismacolor pencils pretty well. But they tend to crumble away with not much pressure, so I am disappointed, and will look for another brand. Read more
