these are great for writing on black, like black foam core, or matt black paper. didn't work as well writing on faux chalkboard if the board is shiny. They did write on faux chalkboard that was matte (no shine) Read more
bought these white charcoal pencils to use for sketching and adding highlights, and they’ve been amazing. The pencils are smooth, blend really well, and the white shows up beautifully on toned or dark paper. I love that it comes as a set of 12 so I don’t have to worry about running out anytime soon. These white charcoal pencils are pretty good quality and I enjoyed using them. The carving knife is nice and works well for sharpening. I especially really liked the eraser pencil — it works great for highlights and corrections. Overall, a solid set. Read more

I use them for sketching on my artwork to figure out composition. I work in acrylics so background is usually treated on the darker side, so pencils can't really be seen well. Easily removed. Read more
