We went on a multi-week, cross country vacation right in the middle of COVID, RSV, influenza, norovirus season (late 2024). We stayed in so many different hotels, in so many different states, I’ve lost track (>10). We relied on AirFanta HEPA air purifiers to mitigate our hotel rooms. 4 AirFanta air purifiers easily fit into one bag. That’s enough fire power for about 20 ACH (air changes/hr) in each hotel room! The air in our hotel room was likely far more disinfected and clean than any hospital. Even with our children in stow, we had ZERO illnesses on our multi-week vacation!!! The portability this AirFanta air purifier offers was also instrumental to our ability to a healthy vacation. 1 AirFanta has about as much CADR (clean air delivery rate) as the largest Levoit air purifier!!! Now imagine lugging around 4 large Levoit air purifiers while on a cross country vacation with your children in tow…not appealing, in my opinion. Just one bag carried all 4 AirFantas and it was still lightweight. Sound level: as compared to traditional air purifiers, the AirFanta air purifier is much quieter. This allowed for us to clean the air in our hotel room while allowing us to sleep comfortably due to tolerable sound levels. Likely 2 AirFanta air purifiers is all you need for any standard hotel room. We just wanted to double up to allow for deployment in multi-room hotel suites (which is why we bought/used 4 of them). Worked amazingly well. Tips for illness prevention during travel: 1–Mitigating against airborne transmission is exceptionally easy to accomplish with AirFanta’s air purifier. I highly recommend using an ACH calculator and aim for a minimum of 12 ACH (air changes/hour) in public locations. 2–When not in your hotel room, wear fit-tested respirators in public places where there is any shared air. I recommend using a nebulizer and 3M’s Bitrex (FT-32) liquid to perform the fit-test (instructions are on line for free). Both the adults and children used fit tested respirators while on vacation and they worked remarkably well. We went to crowded, indoor public places, saw movies, exhibits, etc, had zero issues with illnesses. 3–When you initially get to your hotel room and have your AirFanta devices set up, let them run for 45-60 minutes before removing your respirator (at minimum 12 air changes). Have one AirFanta by the hotel’s door and a second towards the middle of the hotel room. While I cannot guarantee zero illnesses with this method, I can speak to the success we had in terms of illness prevention. In our experience, no other HEPA air purifier on the market comes close to AirFanta’s portability, CADR (clean air delivery rate), & sound volume. Read more

This HEPA filter does everything correct. The CFM is insane. The fans are fully able to be controlled to your exact speed flow and sound level desired. This truly can exchange the air in a room at a rate that is really able to protect someone unlike many other rivals that just slowly help by the hour. The assembly of the product is super easier, small, easy to pack up, has a power unit that changes volts to control the fan, and is built I think best for portable use. It is not going to withstand someone falling on it so you should put it in a safe spot. Overall I am mighty impressed by this device and will be getting a second unit in the near future. There is nothing as efficient power wise, air flow wise, size wise, price wise, and weight wise as the air fanta HEPA unit. Read more

TLDR version: Pros: CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate), portability, excellent carbon filters, price, comes packaged securely Cons: Aesthetics, slight fan noise/ pitchiness at speed 4 and above While I'm not the biggest fan of the device's aesthetics it has excellent CADR for a very reasonable price and It's fairly portable. It's certainly a step up aesthetic wise from your everyday box fan CR box. I wasn't sure if the carbon version of the device came with regular filters as well and it does. I haven't had my device for very long but I'm loving it. I was well informed of what I was getting thanks to social media and independent reviews. The carbon version is great for indoor gardeners who quickly want to rid a room of the smoke and smell. My cat has a sensitive respiratory system and this helps me quickly clean the air. Also great for airborne virus mitigations thanks to the excellent CADR. I'll be buying a dedicated backpack for easier portability. I don't mind white noise so speed 3 is fine with no TV. I find 4 okay when the tv or music is playing. Everyone is different. I can feel the difference when I have this device on. Overall I'm very pleased. I've recommended the product to others and its great to finally own it myself. Excited to purchase the more aesthetic iteration later this year. Hope the company keeps up the great work. Read more

About two weeks ago, I threw one of these into a carry on (well, not literally, but it was that easy to pack). I then set it up in my hotel room, where it has been running for a week. Best and most efficient filter I have used, the only things to keep in mind is that there is 1) no UV light if that's a dealbreaker for you and (very minor) it may take a second to set up the four filter panels so that they all fit tightly together at right angles, but it's worth it, because it's so efficient and this means are no extra little gizmos to keep track of and/or misplace. Set up easily (with jet lag and a sprained foot) without needing to refer to directions. Not only does it quickly filter my hotel room, but it provides exactly the correct amount of white noise to drown out any hallway sounds (I happen to be not that far from the elevators this trip.) I also noticed the other day that my sinuses are now also completely clear. Which almost never happens in a hotel room, even at the 5 star-eco-cleaning-standard level. (This is a more average, if solid, property.) I'm leaving this one behind for my mom, confident that it will easily filter her apartment, and just ordered another for me. Read more
