I purchased this memory foam mattress topper, and it honestly feels thicker than 3 inches—my bed looks noticeably taller now :). It’s extremely comfortable. The topper arrived vacuum-sealed and was very easy to unpack. After opening it, I let it expand for about an hour until it reached its full size, then placed it under my mattress cover. I bought this because my old bed was making my back a bit sore. I was considering buying a new bed, but I decided to try a topper(Queen size) for the first time, and it's surprisingly very comfortable. Since it's memory foam, it's gentle on the back, easy to move and manage, and... I set it up and tried it out as soon as it was delivered, and it provides just the right support—not too soft—so I was able to sleep comfortably. This is fantastic! I have a new mattress that’s quite firm, which I prefer, but it’s a tight-top with very little padding. I avoid built-in pillow tops because they tend to separate over time, but I still wanted some cushioning to help distribute weight and relieve pressure points. This topper does exactly that. It truly feels like sleeping on a marshmallow, while still keeping the solid support of a firm mattress underneath. When I first took it out of the vacuum-sealed packaging, it was very wrinkled and shriveled (think Voldemort in Goblet of Fire), but within about an hour it was almost fully expanded and ready to go. It does add noticeable height to the bed, so keep that in mind if you already have a tall setup. That said, it looks great ... clean, square, and polished on the bed. It also rebounds beautifully; it doesn’t stay indented where you’ve been lying. The cover is a nice bonus: grippy on the bottom so it doesn’t slide around, and soft and comfortable on top.
